If an agreement is not reached by a certain date for the ABP dispute with Barry Behrman it will effect the turnout for fans and vendors.

Let's set a date for when this disagreement should be resolved by so that third parties like vendors, amateur players, fans and other affiliates can plan their time at the Open better.

I am saying August 20, 2011 is when the issue between the ABP and Barry should be resolved by. It leaves two months to cancel or confirm reservations.

WTF?!

Let's set a date? WE HAVE NO REAL INPUT.

Let's set a date...:slap:

Airlines have cancellation charges if not given prior notice.

A lot of changes with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) are ongoing and airlines have big swings in what they charge and when they charge it.

Also hotels like to have advance notice about cancellations.

Wait a minute. Are you now saying someone other than you bears risk for your decision to buy tickets early?

Another WTF for you.

Myron...I WISH I could say that! I've only been a few times! :D Now my buddy Willie Jopling was a fixture at the US Open, attending EVERY one, except last years...only missing it in person...I feel certain that he was there in spirit! I sure miss him. He was definitely one-of-a-kind! RIP Bill! :frown: I'll look for ya Myron! Maybe you should come join the bunch of CCBr's who are having our 10th anniversary tournament at Q-Masters Friday morning.

You are like the furniture - always reliably at the US Open.
I should be there as well.

See you at Q-Masters.

US Open or bust

I'm going no matter what! There are plenty of excellent players and some of the less public players may come out to take a crack at the cash.

If you want to set a deadline, call the ABP and tell them to get off of their butts and do something positive today. The Open will go on with or without them.

My wife and I will be there even if Barry and Shannon are playing in the finals.

To those of you that matter and truly care for the preservation of our beloved game...I'll see you at the Open!!

Maybe the big guns need to chill.....

I have been in support of this boycott, but the more I watch what is going on, the more I am backing off. Everybody that plays pool has watched the sport grow over the years and everybody has worked hard to show support for our sport. OK, there have been some issues with payout and the complaints are valid. The US Open is one of the biggest events we have and I'm afraid that a failure to have the tournament will do more damage than good. It is important that securing funds for the payout is a good idea and I support that. But, if we don't have this tournament, it will have a negative effect on the sport by not competing. There has to be an element of trust and I believe that most of the players involved have a positive attitude and want this event to happen. It will only take one or a few of the top players to turn this situation around, but somebody needs to step up get the ball rolling in the right direction. Please don't boycott because your buddy is doing it. Who's got the balls to do it?
