Players touching the table with the tip of cue

I'd be interested in seeing both. We can stick to pool though.

How about you run Dr Dave's tests and post that.

Then we can get a pretty good idea about "the ladies" that might buy in too.

Looking forward to it. I'm all about learning here.

Never done it but will probably once I get my table set up. I think I started it once but got bored. However...where I come from the wagon wheel is not ball in hand every shot lol...the whole point of the exercise is to cheat the pocket and use english to change the tangent line FROM THE SAME SPOT.

Lmao, That's fn great! That's how I learned the wagon wheel.

When I first saw bih. I was like, rukm, that's waay easier.

I do a half ball break from straight in for the cb in the opposite direction of the balls to hit.

Ob 1 diamond off side pocket, cb middle of table as described.

Cesar Morales...but you can call me Brags.

So to summarize.

No touching the table with your tip.
No measuring with your stick like the mirror system or lining up a kick or rail shot...you know how they pivot with the stick from the pocket etc.
Remove the diamonds from the table.
Take the rest (rake) out of the game.

Also take out jump and break cues...should have to jump/break with playing cue.

I would also like to see no more break cues.

You must play the whole game with only ONE cue and that's it.

Also would like to see NO chalk on the table at any time.
NEVER.
It goes in your pocket or stays at your seat.
Nothing should be on the table at any time.

No break cues,
No jump cues,
No chalk on tables.

OK......I'm happy. :grin-square: :grin-square: :grin-square:

Why do you think he chalked again afterwards? Because he lost all the chalk when he bounced the tip off the rail and dragged it along the cloth. Foul.

That says nothing about his intentions. Again, logic is required here. It is possible and likely that he has a routine that goes "chalk--get down--stroke", all in an uninterrupted sequence. Perhaps enough time and other thoughts came up after chalking that he (wisely) went thru his routine again.

If you choose to cling to the rule someone posted as worded as the basis for your argument, then you need to show that in placing his tip to visualize the shot, that he *intentionally* left a chalk in a particular location. So far, you have said nothing at all to that effect. Not foul.

Some times positioning of the cue ball in a certain position on the table, for shape, is necessary due to the lay out of the object ball. Like to see snooker or golf played on a 10/12 foot table.with none of these so called cheating aids.

Intention is irrelevant. You can't argue that you didn't intend to touch a ball with your shirt while leaning over for a shot. The rule clearly states that you cannot mark the table. This guy was doing this the whole game. I would have called a foul...pulled out my laminated card and shown the ref, and showed him the chalk residue on the table.

So the part of the rule that clearly states "intentionally marking the table" is not relevant to you? Are you just picking out the parts of the rule you like and disregarding the rest? With regard to touching a ball with your shirt, does the rule say "you can't touch it", or does it say "you can't intentionally touch it"? Seriously guy, you are not presenting yourself as very bright...

Go ahead and pull out your card and show it to the ref, and point to chalk residue. And then listen for the ref to tell you "I don't think he did that with the intention of marking the table. No foul"

Lol wow

Look at the video...he chalks, then slides the cue across the cloth and chalks again. How can you argue that it wasn't intentional? I would say ok...leave your cue at your chair and only come get it when you are ready to shoot...Or I would confiscate his chalk and only let him chalk up when he's ready to shoot.
