Playing better while medicated

Don't fool yourself, Sir. It is a dangerous and fukcing hilarious world out there:

Ahahahaha. You are a funny guy! :D

The magic dragon?

And who knows what you and Puff the Magic Dragon might've accomplished together?

I can perhaps answer that.

I played on a team of pot smokers many years ago that won many championships, including state and national. One of our players was a multiple national amateur champ and won a number of pro events. And he wasn't even our best player! I won about two dozen bar tourneys myself one season, and was probably the fourth strongest player on the team. Our best player actually smoked sometimes before big matches and took off a midwest gambler for $19,000 in one session.

But our general rule was: No smoking before or during matches! We'd smoke after our final match of the day....it was our reward for winning, which we did (as a team) about 98% of the time.

I agree fooling with drugs, in general is no good. However, I feel compelled to defend pot a little. I spent a few days at the FBI Academy at Quantico. During this time I listened to a lecture to 400 cops and Judi and me about the absurdity of spending money chasing pot offenders. Money that is needed to chase cocaine, meth, etc. dealers.
The AMMA said, to the best of their knowledge there has never been one fatality directly atributed to Marajuana. On the contrary, if you search the internet you can find reports that say it inhibbits Alzheimers, Parkinsons and even cancers.
Now, I don't know how much of this is factual, but, hell!, I'm willing to take a chance.
ANYBODY GOT ONE?
Keep it healthy. Alfie

It's funny you said that. Just this weekend at a pool tournament I was talking to another guy about back pain. We both suffer from it but his is due to a recent accident. He was prescribed a very strong pain killer and said that he quit taking it because of all of the negative effects and instead he smokes pot to help take the edge off. He went on to say that he was better able to play pool while on pot than the other pain killers.

I on the other hand, have been prescribed Vicodin for my pain and my doctor thinks I need to up the dosage. I have opted instead to just deal with the pain and quit taking them altogether. Pot isn't legal in our state and if I tested positive for it I would loose my job, so for me there is too much to loose. But if my state legalized it I would be willing to try it out.

The side effects have got to be better than what I was dealing with while I was on Vicodin.

How did he shoot in the tourney? (and also how did you)?
I'd be interested to know if either of you felt like the drug helped.

Good point. He won, I didn't!

( He mentioned that he felt that weed helped him. I don't smoke it so I cant say but I can say that the vicodin is more of an annoyance than help)

The problem with using so called medication to improve your game is that it is only temporary. Over time it will take it's toll and when that player comes back from the Restroom they will be an egg beater, simply said Drugs only increase control until they take control and then there is no control!!!!!!:(

We have lost to many great players over the years because they substituted drugs or alcohol to improve, there are no winners in this scenario long term!!!!!:frown:

sad day when people kill themselves for a temporary fix that causes a permit exit
i know the pain this causes, just read the obits ,and you see the latest stats .
young people are going bye bye due to prescription drug abuse in record numbers !
