Hi all,

Who are some great cuemakers that you can still get a cue from? (ie: in under 2 years wait)?

They (can, but) don't have to be up and coming, or household names...tell us who you think delivers an excellent product for the money?

(I think it's impossible to say someone is the best...but who is good? who would you recommend, and why)?

All pictures, comments, and opinions are welcome.

Thank you,
-Aaron Silva

Honestly, Blackcreek and Richard Black would be my choices given your criteria.

I've played with many cues prior to my B & D and I've never been more pleased with the hit, style or overall performance and value for my money. I think that statement about sums it up...

cutter here on AZ. Definitely up and coming. Great playing cues at a reasonable price and he can get as fancy as you want too. Very easy to deal with.

Custom Cues

An up and comer who just was admitted into ACA is J. Michael Durbin.
Page 271 Blue Book of Pool Cues Third Edition.

He helped me with my recent design and turnaround time was less than three months. He took my original concept and improved upon it every step of the way. Cue looks great, plays great. Very reasonably priced.

I have also been very happy with custom cues I designed and had made by Pechauer (J. Pechauer Custom Cues) and Nubs Wagoner (Nova Cues b/4 he retired)

A friend of mine was very pleased with his Ginacue and it looks and plays great as well. Wait was less than two years for him about five years ago.

For what its worth,
Steve

Gilbert...

andy gilbert can usually get anything out to you with in a year. unless you are looking for a crazy amount of inlay work, that will probably be a little longer. JS

I have no idea what his current waiting times are...but here's somebody fairly close to you who is popular...you might want to make the drive, visit his shop. It's a pretty drive down to Eugene/Springfield from Bend...

I just received a cue from Arnot in only three months from order to delivery. Excellent playing cue, and beautiful wood.

I know a guy that i play pool with a few times a week thats starting to make a cue here and there. I got a chance to hit with one last night and i was very impressed. He is definately gonna be a guy to watch for in the future. Right now its just basic cues but he has the ability to do anything he puts his mind to. He has 2 basic bar cue conversions right now with maple and mahogany. The hit is very solid and the cues are great looking. Might be a good investment for all you cue guys because my friend that i am talking about happens to be the brother of Eric Crisp of Sugartree cues. All of you on here who love great cues know what kind of cue Eric makes, so his brother has had an excellent teacher. He still works a full time job and just enjoys making a cue here and there when he has a little free time, but he has all the ability in the world to make a first class cue. Just somethin to keep in mind when u see this guys name in the future.

Jum Buss has a few Cues left over from SBE he is a great Cuemaker, and wonderful person to deal with.

Check with Jeff Olney. He makes one helluva cue, & his prices are more than reasonable.
Give him a holler, you won`t be disappointed, believe me.
