**PLEASE READ** Stolen Cue

Jimmy was the place packed or slow last night? Did you seem to know everyone or was it a lot of new faces?

I have nightmares of this happening to me, I'm like a paranoid freak at tournaments.

I bet your right about what happened. They probably found out who they stole it from and realized they will get caught trying to unload it.

I wonder if this post assisted in getting it back.

Either way good ending to that story.

Hey, you commented on "Princes" nick name, is that by chance the name of his dog?

Jimmy,

Whoever has that cue would have a helluva time unloading it and the $500 will start to look real good. They may give it to a friend to return to you, with some cockamami story. Don't question them about the story! Just
IT'S COMING BACK!!!

Jay your prediction came true.
Jimmy, I am happy to know that you got back that lethal weapon of yours.

Absolutely amazing! Jimmy W. got his dog back, and then Jimmy M. got his cues back... the pool Gods are on a roll! :D Congrats, Mr. Mendoza. :)

My cue was returned to a pool room that I was at last night. Someone came in this afternoon, said they found it outside, then left. It's someone that no one at the pool room knows. I have asked the people who were working to get the guy's name and number if they ever see him again because I'd like to give him a reward.

I find it incredibly difficult to believe that it was just "sitting in the parking lot" from 11:00pm last night to 4:00pm'ish this evening considering that the owner of the pool room looked all over for the cue, inside and outside (and where I was parked), and they couldn't find it. I couldn't sleep last night and I even went back out at 4:00am to retrace my steps because I was sick and couldn't sleep. I didn't see it in the parking lot, outside, nowhere. I suspect someone felt that they wouldn't be able to offload it and just dropped it back off. I obviously did something wrong to have ever let it leave my sight. Regardless of how it all happened, or why someone returned it, I'm just ecstatic to have it back. Thanks to all of you who offered advice, kind words, etc. In fact, thanks to all of you who just took the time to read this thread. I feel like I'm in debt to everyone ... now the question is: how the hell do I repay it? That's a lot of debt! :)

Jimmy,

He won't be back. HE'S the thief!

Did you ever check the video at the poolroom where it was stolen? That's where you'll see the same guy.

If he had known there was a $500 reward, he would have devised some scheme with a buddy to return it to you, and get the reward. You got off cheap. Take Meiko and the baby out to dinner tonite and celebrate!

I'm glad you got your cue back. Be a little more careful next time! :)

I am very happy to see the cue was returned to you.
I would just be sick if something like that happened to me.
When I read how you were out at 4:00 AM I had such a sick feeling in my gut.

Let this be a lesson to all of us, to keep an eye on our gear, or have a friend watch it if you go to the restroom.

:)

Congrats on getting your cue back. I was just sick for you. Knowing that I would be devistated if my cues and case were stolen.

Karma (or is it Carma?) took care of it, my friend.

Happy Holidays, JBK

Great news, Jimmy!

Bet it feels like a 2000 lbs. rock has been lifted off your chest!

What a relief!

Alls well that ends well. Now you can start getting ready for the straight pool tourny at Stixx in Feb. I used to have nightmares that my car was stolen and my only concern was that my cue was in the car. You're a lucky man Jimmy.

Thanks, Jay. I will definitely be more careful in the future. I don't usually leave my stuff lying around. I'm one of those guys who takes his cue to the bathroom with him when he's playing. I never let it leave my sight. After playing it over and over in my head, and how it all played out, there's only two possible ways that they got the cue. One, I left it resting against my car before going into the pool room, but I'm kind of doubting that one because I made a conscious decision not to take my cue into the pool room when I got there. I wasn't going to play. I was only there to watch a little of Max and Mitch play. The second scenario, which I'm kind of leaning toward, is that I left my car unlocked. My cue was just sitting in the back seat.

I already took your advice, Jay. Took the family out to dinner last night. :)

Thanks again.

Hi Frank. Man, I know how lucky I got. There wouldn't have been any straight pool for me in Feb had I not got the cue back. I was just sick and didn't even want to play pool. I don't know if this is a sign that I should quit or a sign that I should start playing again. Or maybe it's just a sign that I shouldn't be so damn careless with my cue! :D

Great news.:) Glad to hear you got it back.

I had a dream about 6 months ago that I had my stick stolen out of my case. I opened the case and it was gone.. I was totally sick the next day even after waking up and knowing that all was well.

I can imagine how you felt with it actually happening. I'm like you now. I either have someone watch it if I go to the bathroom, or, when playing, I put the case and the jump stick under the table I am playing on. Don't take any chances.

They have NO chance to sell this cue, and they know it. Did you check the dumpsters in the area of the poolroom? Don't be surprised! I'm telling you, give this guy an easy way out and he may take it.

Are there security cameras in the poolroom? If there are, you will find your man. Get proactive buddy. That guy is sweating it right now, and the cue is hiding somewhere close by. He knows he made a mistake and is looking for a way out of the trap he put himself in. GET THOSE FLYERS UP NOW!

This could be a plausible story for anyone that "happens" upon the cue:

Jimmy, I heard about your cue being stolen. There was a guy, medium build about 30 years old, looked like a gangster type guy. I had never seen him before and he had your cue. He wanted to sell it real bad so I offered him the $500 you were offering and he took it. I don't want any extra money but I'm just glad to help you get it back. Jimmy then says, "YOU BET, thank you man. Here's the $500. Than you very much."

The story could be polished up bit but it's a start in case someone comes across the cue.

I'm sure its evident that I didn't read the whole thread before responding. :o

Get Right On It..... OK ?

Jimmy, aren't you feeling just the slightest twinge to split the $500 among everyone that posted in this thread ?

( or, at least everyone who posted up through post.......ah, #56 ) :)

I'm feeling something ... I think it's my wife's hand on my wallet every time I reach for it! :p

Jimmy,
I have a nice ss joint Padgett about 19oz with 2 shafts and 2 predator shafts you are more then welcome to use until you get your cue back. I have not hit a ball in over a year with it. When my cues were stolen it was one of the few survivors residing in a local poolroom. I do not play anymore feel free to use it as long as you like.

That's a very generous offer. I am happy to say, however, that I got my cue back and will not have to take you up on it. Thank you very much. Hopefully I'll meet you some day and I can thank you in person. I posted the whole story a few posts back. I feel like I hit the lotto. :)
