What was the most emotional moment--either from anger or celebratory--you've witnessed at a pro tournament? How would you characterize today's top women players compared to Jean Balukas?

What gave him the idea to form Accu-Stats, and how in the world did he think he could make it is great as it is based on the low interest, either perceived or real, in the game of pool?

Thanks/ agreed interest.

I'd also like to know some something about his initial investments- money and personal- were.

Plus, does the accustaff get to play pool ever, 'then' and now?

1. Who started his journey on becoming an event producer?
2. Was it easy to stop being a player and transitioning to producing?
3. What were the hardships at the beginning of AccuStats such as equipment, learning the ropes, etc?
4. Was it hard getting contracts with tournament organizers to videotape events?
5. What inspired him to pursue a pool career?
6. Thoughts on Mosconi, Caras, Crane and all the topflight pool players of that day?
7. How would he compare today's players vs players of the 80s-90s such as Strickland, Sigel and Varner?
8. What are his thoughts on Grady Matthews' contributions to the pool world?
9. What is his favorite game of all time and least favorite?
10. Who runs the best pool tournaments/events?
11. What was the single most expensive piece of equipment he ever purchased?
12. Was Steve Mizerak pool's greatest spokesman?
13. Who's the greatest player he's ever seen?
14. What advice would he give anyone aspiring to be a tournament organizer?

We should hire you to help us with episode prep. Thanks!

One I've always wondered about, were there any players that had a knack for outrunning their Accu-Stats? Meaning players that still won more often than most with a lower TPA than their opponents in a match.

Not a question so much as a suggestion. I would LOVE for Accu-Stats to have their video library digitally upscaled to modern resolutions. It would be wonderful to watch all the old matches again with the benefit of digital upscaling technology, which is really quite remarkable. I know the pool world is small and it's nearly impossible to amortize any significant expense, but I'd totally be willing to pay up!

It sounds you like many others are not yet aware that our very own Mike Howerton of AzBilliards is now the owner of Accu-Stats. Pat sold it to him in 2022.

I don't know if trying to upscale the videos to a higher resolution before uploading would slow down the process much or not (or how much improvement could really be done because the upscale "magic" only goes so far and can often have pretty disappointing results in my experience), but right now I really like and appreciate the rate at which Mike is getting all these matches digitized and uploaded to Youtube.
