I play from 12 years back. I learned only the parallel english so far. I didn't knew there is another way. I saw a video someone and he teach Back hand English but as a twist from the back arm with the final stroke. That really broken my shot for a while. When I saw this thread I though " What a hell is FHE and BHE.? Is this for real ? ". But today I was going to a competition and between matches I started to try BHE. Wow ! It seems so simple ! I only have to do one adjustment after I set in position. Before I was kinda making 2 or 3 adjustments. The good part is that I already have a feeling to aim and adjust according to the distance between CB and OB, spin and swerve. So I was very consistent today, still in the race for tomorrow. Thanks guys !
PS : I tried a little FHE but it seems very strange. I couldn't perform it.

OMG, BHE, FHE,CTE i feel pefectly ostra- whatever from you guys who are obviously more edumacated than me. Do I have to pass physics to hold the certifcation and apply the trade? Who do I pay dues to? LOL

Sorry my little rant for the day, I will go back and watch the video some more. I apply some of this in my game with not the highest percentages which means I dont practice it much. Incidentally the best safe shooter I know swipes the cue tip across the ball to make whitey do things that are simply astonishing which is what this looks like to me.

You guys just have me way outclassed but definitely with the 6, likely with the 7 but no with the 8 youre just way to strong for me!! Ha Ha!

By the way "Im a DAM kind of guy"!!

Obviously, you don't like this sort of thing; but if anybody else wants a simple demonstration of how BHE works (and when it doesn't work), this video covers it fairly well:

Also, many more resources (videos, articles, postings) can be found on BHE and FHE here:

Enjoy,

Apparently you took what I said inconsistent with what I meant. I guess I was being facicious? Sp--Im sure. I really enjoyed the links. I keep getting logged off if I take time to post a decent reply. Is this some sort of timing issue with V-bulletin? Its frustrating. Thank you if this persists Ill prob be dropping off the scene I like to take my time to say what I mean. Guess Ive been making allowances so long I hadnt really broken them down into BHE or FHE to me they are just E.

I was very impressed with the differences in the normal vs. Predator shaft.

Looks like I might have to rethink some on shafts. Since I just ordered two new ones--ouch. I guess Im a traditionalist. It looks a whole lot easier not to be though.

I speaka da English!!

After reading "The pleasures of small motions", I started to use all the systems when I train ,trying to " record " and test everything as conscious as I can be.The key is to really pay attention so the brain can store in to memory the information. When I play in a match, I just let myself ( inner self) play the shots without conscious control. When I was trying very hard to control everything ( aim, path, squirt ....) I found myself more in a dump. Now I think it is more easy, and less pressure.
I loved what a fellow az ( Jhun) told me : " I don't care about systems, I just shoot what I am "

BHE, FHE or Parallel

Madfox,
Im sort of with your friend---you make up or use little systems you come up with to do things---at some point you have to let it flow and trust you can do what you need to----I like to bank---banking is a lot like that--you make up little ways of looking at things-- when you practice and when its time to play---you have to roll with it. I played a tournament recently and ran up on a few really tough players that took me out. Thats exactly what both of them were doing. They were letting it roll. I was being a little to mechanical. It taught me an awful lot. I guess I had transitioned to total feel with English. The thought of breaking it down into FHE and BHE just blew me away. So I know Ive some time to put in with this to pick my game up another little notch. Which means Ive got to focus on the mechanics of things again.

It does feel good just to let it roll. Specially when you're hitting em good.

I have lots of ways of looking at things, and I enjoy "letting it roll", but for me letting it roll doesn't mean I stop looking at things in all those different ways - it means I'm able to see each shot in many different ways at once, without all the effort and internal dialogue.

Remember Me

Patrick,

Thanks!! I will do that from now on. Its sure been frustrating. Ive lost some good replys to the point I copy them and have to log off and on to post them. Youve done me a great service.

Im with you Patrick on letting it roll and knowing why you do so. Sorta the cornerstone of my game.

Thanks,
