Jump cues dumb down the game. Skill should be rewarded. I voted no on jump cues.

Skill is rewarded when you are able to pocket balls with a jump cue.

Also there is skill to leaving your opponent shots where they are unable to use a jump cue even if they are allowed.

The only thing that bothers me is when I am playing someone who has strong jumping skills and they hook themselves. Then they pull out the jump cue, make the ball, and continue the run.

When Sky jumped, made the ball and ran out in the final rack of his match vs Albin in Mosconi, was everyone who voted no saying this is stupid? he should have kicked at that ball!

I'm good either way as long as it's the rules. I was only referring to the "hop a cue ball makes on some strokes which could be (but shouldn't imo) a "jump"...

If we want to get SUPER TECHNICAL,the cue ball is not on the table ON THE BREAK!

So really, the ball is NOT ALWAYS ON THE TABLE!!

It is when I break. 9 ball game hit softly, 8 & 10 ball game, about 15-17 MPH on my Predator break speed dial. Sad but it's all I've got.

No Denwhit, it is not. The other poll shows the reality of the matter. Many, many more people have Jump Cues in their bags and that shows a much more realistic point of view.

Yes, I have a cemetery plot but I don't want to go there now. I have a gun in my car but I don't want to use it. I have a fire extinguisher but I do not want to use it. Get the drift?
Most of us have jump cues but we wish they would be banned.

Denwhit,

Seriously flawed logic you seem to have.

You obviously don't mind it that much if you have one and use it... I would say you are like most people and would do anything to win, you admitting you have one and use it tells me that :p

What someone thinks the rules to something should be and how they approach something given the current rules are two exclusive ideas. One is completely independent of the other.

Not sure why this is confusing to people.

Not confused.

Its called having principles and living by them.

Howdy All;

Got along without those short cues for many, many years. Everyone did fine without
them. Probably started as a marketing gimmick, now, everyone thinks they can't get
through a match without one. Bullpucky. Get rid of the danged things. Gotta jump use
your regular or break cue.

Spleen vented,

hank

I'm lost? Thought this was a discussion about jump cues. Somehow there is a profound deep issue where things like 'having principals' is involved...huh?

You are lost for sure. Read both quotes THAT YOU WROTE. You tried to rationalize this guy starting a poll AGAINST jump cues and he admits he has one and uses it. I merely pointed out that he is most likely the exact type of person who would whip a jump cue out to save a foul or to win a game in a second. He acts like he has principles concerning the issue and is against them, but, still uses one.

It is stupid when a guy shoots 1000 and loses to a gimmick. Pool should be a game of skill.

So I got a nice lil Private Message today from a
person (who I will not name, they can speak out
to the situation if they like) concerning this guy
"Prairie Dog" and how he changed his Name on here.

I know who he is an he seems to be trying to
"start over" because he lied about a local pool
room owner and some mechanics that work at
the room. He has a "Mark Gregory" Anniversary
that RKC went and fixed. There were pictures
posted and the refinish work and the "upholstery"
on the rails was ridiculously low quality. My 7 month
old daughter could have done better work.

I assume he deleted his old account "Denwhit"
Yes, a local Mexican refinished them and the table.
They look nice but not up to Mark's work of course.
This is what he sent me the other day. Hmmmm

No longer will you hide DENWHIT!

P.s. Not being "mean"... Just being REAL about
you and all the commotion you started on here
and are trying to hide from.
