This should be very interesting to see the actual poll results. What was the cost of your regular "daily" playing cue ?

Low end for me.
I've got a handful of customs and other cues that play decently well, but I keep coming back to my trusty old 90's Falcon that I bought here on AZ for 300 bucks. For me, it hits just as well if not better than any other cue I've tried.

Using a mezz SP that was with the shaft around 390 EUR, so under the 500 dollar line.
It just plays amazing, is wrapless and the cocobolo has some nice figures, so i dont see me buying a new playing cue anytime soon :)

As I've stated many times before, it's the 5" space between your ears not the equipment. Someone please prove me wrong.

I agree with you.

I played with a 3.000 dollar custom. Was afraid to take it to Vegas so I bought a 40.00 sneaky Pete to take and played the best I ever played.

So I sold the custom to buy a truck and a meucci . Just had to buy another cue to replace that one although I did not need it :D

I have a rare 2005 Martin, but it's currently being kept in the vault at Steamer corporate headquarters.
The cue I'm playing with now is a fairly new Schon STL-5, with a Schon/Predator 314-2 shaft. :)

I play with my high end cue. Not the fanciest, but if you're not going to play with it, what's the point????????

Typical cue builder and retailer. Don't use your own products :p :D :thud: !

Just ask "Banks". He still plays with his 15 oz Valley Supreme!

I have 2 playing cues at the moment. One is a "custom", or I'm not real sure what the status of that brand is, low volume production or custom? It cost about 700 dollars. It currently resides in my closet. The other cue I bought on ebay for the princely sum of 40 dollars second hand....It is, BY FAR, the best playing cue I've ever tried. It was cheap because the only shaft was warped, but I straightened it. It has a ROCK solid hit and perfect balance, plus it has the same joint as my old player so I have all kinds of shafts for it.

I would not say all cues under $500 are "low end".

my Joss and Pechauer are under 500, and I would call each "mid level"

Of anybody that takes this game even semi-seriously, I may be the cheapest guy around when it comes to my cues. I bought a 60 dollar Palmer off of eBay. I think I paid 40 for my break/jump cue. Now I do use a predator shaft on that Palmer. It's about 5 or 6 years old now. My backup shaft is an original 314.

I learned a long time ago that I don't like playing with valuable cues because they will get dinged up no matter how careful you are. Or at least they will if I'm holding them.

Bought a low end Joss and love it. Fitted an OB 2+ to it but it wasn't for me. Thought it would be magic but went back to the good old maple shaft. Only two things in life are magic: exercise and compound interest. No cue or shaft is magic.

The problem is, Lyn, that the Wonder and the Miracle cues are just so damn popular that we can't keep up with demand. As soon as things slow down a bit I'll have the guys make me one with my name on it. If that happens it will probably be a Miracle.

Hi end cue ?

So how is a cue being judged for those who really don't know what makes a cue hi end .
Certainly not the price , There are some truths to people paying1500.00 bucks for a 125.00 china made knock off.
Or someone paid 2500.00 bucks for a run of the mill DP.

On the other end there are some real hi end cues that don't look anything more special then what I am already playing with.

One of the things that make hi end cues worth so much is there condition, who is willing to take the chance of screwing up a 40 K cue, not me .........

I cannot afford to own and play with a expensive hi end cue, I can buy one and then try to sale it for a profit but I cannot afford to use it and lower its value .

My expensive set is closer to $8k, but I've been playing with my shooter for nearly 4 years. tough to transition away from it...

I had 350€ Bear and it finally got broken somewhere inside of butt. My friend had Falcon and he's shaft got broken so I did buy his butt cheap. That Falcon butt fits bear stock shaft :) now played about 10 years that Falcon. So under 500$ my cue.
