Pooky got cheated at Triple 9 billiard in Maryland

Pooky, did they tell you why they paid you? Was it because of business or because it was the right thing to do?

Good for you, Pooky! Bravo to whoever paid the monies. That made things right.

A paid Pooky is a happy Pooky. Now you ready for some football? The action room guys are waiting for your money to make it's way to them. Don't keep them waiting too long. Lol

It made things better, not right. Right would be an apology and different TDs in the future. If those goofs are still working, it's not right.

Best not to harp on them at this point since they did make it right, I think, though I understand your thoughts.

The world is a better place when you laugh --> HERE ;)

Yeah, but let's be honest. They probably wouldn't have made it right if Pooky didn't put it on here though.

Who knows how many people they might have wronged who didn't know any better, or who never spoke up.

It would be better off without them.

Problem with someting like that though is most TDs at small weekly tournaments around here dont get anything for running the tourney or at least nothing of significance. Normally the people that want to run the tourney run it by the owner to get approval to do it. It's not something the owner came up with and then hired someone to do. These guys are not career tournament directors, hence mistakes happen.

If the TDs walk or are let go then so is the tournament. The establishment gets a decent crowd without the tournament and would not be a necessity for the business. The tournament does draw a good amount of pool players each week, but most of us know that pool players are not massive drinkers or money spenders when in something like this. They'd sooner blow the cash in action or on super rack tickets then on drinks and food at the venue.

That being said, I'm glad they made it right with Pooky and glad he came on here to let everyone know.

See, I come from an entirely different background.
Weekly tournaments up here are mostly run by people that work for the pool room or the owner. The weekly local tournament has been running for 26 years. At it's peak, it was filled with 64 players with a waiting list of 15+ from cripple to open level of ability. At It's worst, you might have 10. Now it averages around 32 and that's not bad considering the landscape of pool as a whole. And the swings poolrooms have seen business wise.

But even if a tournament was outsourced to someone wanting to run it, as a business owner, I would rather there be no tournament, then have people running one, and giving my pool room a bad reputation in the process.
