Does anyone have any input( facts or opinions) on my observation:

It seems that the people who make the most money from pool do not spend any directly PAYING Pro's ??? I mean actual endorsement checks and not equipment.


Brunswick, Simonis,(<<-- Saluc-->>>) Aramith, Diamond, Championship, Valley, Master's...

I would think: APA pays Janet Lee, Cuetec Pays Shane, Rasson pays Florian...
Can anyone add to this or shed light on this topic?

Apa sponsors florian also. Others off the top of my head are lee Brett and tom rossman. . Wouldn't call tom rossman a pro but he is an instructor that they promote.

Why on earth wouldn’t Tom be a pro?
He’s been one of the best trick shot artists in the world for what 30 years and kinda made that side of pocket billiards what it is today.

No one cares if he can’t run a 11 pack I don’t think...hell he could win a world championship in rotation before charlie Williams or Archer can do his machine gun shot into the side pocket in under half a day...charlie be too busy resetting and there’s the other one picking cotton again

Well Brunswick surely fits your algorithm perfectly lol. But the pool money the make is but a bucket of piss compared to the rest of their conglomerate take in....their revenue in 2016 was 4.5 billion!

They own Zebco Boston whaler sea ray....mercury marine....we get pissy they don’t do more for pool at times but man that company sure did come a long way in a century and got its roots deep in American life and the worlds.

But when your a leader in your field your not needing much on advertisement I wouldn’t think....probably just dogmatic welfare to the corporate entity I’d assume

I think that when most companies in any industry pays a pro, it’s because they will see a return. I’d bet that someone pretty smart told them that paying a pro pool player will do almost nothing for their profits.

It is very hard to get a sponsor for a professional player when there isn't even a Pro Tour in The USA.

Have you been living under a rock? Tom Rossman makes his living through pool. Tom Rossman was the godfather of the modern day artistic pool movement and was highly ranked in competition until he retired. Tom still does over 100 trick shot shows a year among his clinics. So saying Tom isn't a pro is a very unintelligent statement.

I kind of offence to the unintelligent remark. Uninformed would be a more apt description in my opinion.

I based my statement on the fact I had never heard of him until I saw his videos on apa's website. I guess you could say I mistakenly classifid him as another instructor like Scott lee...randy g and others. Do you consider those guys pros also ?

Its been said many times on here that most apa players could not name 5 pros and there might be some validity to that statement amongst strictly the recreation types..

I am and have been well aware of a lot of pros over the Tara with the likes of earl...johnny...miz....varner...Reid...rempe..etc...etc...

Sure, none of these guys make a living playing competitively, but they are certainly pool professionals and act in a more professional manner than most players. Combine that with the fact that players come and go in popularity depending on their success and public image, and it makes perfect sense that these guys are the ones the APA wants to associate with.
