AWESOME that's my type of car thanks.:) ..as far as pool playing and shooting.some people are blessed with better eyes..it sure does help...:)

I've shot a good game of pool since I've been twelve. I played just about every day for over thirty years, and after an eight year lay off shot every day for ten more years. From fourteen on I always carried and shot some kind of handgun many times. I had never really fired a rifle outside of hunting a few times before I went in the Army.

I lead my company with the rifle in basic, and later in training for Cold Weather Special Forces. I wound up being trained as a sniper there. The funny part of this is that I was horrible with and never even qualified with a handgun in the Army. Johnnyt

Let's just say that blind man has trouble with both pool and guns.

I too love shooting both pool and firearms. I was just about the top shot in my Naval Reserve unit, Amphibious Construction Battalion Det. 516. I loved being at the range with the M-16 and consistantly having one of the top scores. I've shot various handguns/rifles/shotguns and have always shot very well with all of them. I plan on doing a lot more shooting when my kids get grown up and out of the house. I have reservations about having firearms in my house right now with 2 teenagers and a toddler so I've pretty much sold them all off for now. I'll have fun buying that stuff back again someday.

My favorites .357 and 9MM handguns. .204/.223/.308 rifles and of course the 12 ga. shotgun, pump action.

I guess you could say my brief involvement in law enforcement and my time in the armed forces comes into play for my favorites.

...using the cue shaft as a rifle barrel to point it to given cue tip positions on the OB.

Doing so provides extreme sighting accuracy IMHO relative to using ball parts to aim. The issue, then, is where to aim the "rifle" but WHATEVER system you might use, the tip will point at the exact same spot...of course, assuming a center ball hit on the cb.

Using the stick as an aiming tool this way is also one of my central aiming techniques, and it illustrates what I think is the most closely related aspect of shooting guns and pool: sighting along your "weapon" at the target.

The big difference is that you can't get your eyes directly behind your pool cue like you can get them directly behind your gun's barrel, which makes sighting with a pool cue more difficult and less accurate. This is the reason many players (snooker players especially) like to have their chins right on their cues.
