I think I represent a large portion of the pool population when I say that classic rock and pool go together like Earl and epic mustaches. I used to have a playlist on my iPod that I would have plugged into the pool hall's sound system. These are some tunes that a pool hall just cannot be without. What are your picks?

AC/DC - Shoot to Thrill
Aerosmith - Last Child
Allman Brothers - Whipping Post
Bill Withers - Use Me
Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4
CCR - Green River
Doobie Brothers - China Grove
The Doors - Roadhouse Blues
The Eagles - Hotel California
Eric Clapton - White Room
George Thoroughgood - One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer
The Guess Who - No Time
Guns N Roses - Knockin' On Heaven's Door
James Brown - The Payback
Jimi Hendrix - Fire
Kansas - Carry On My Wayward Son
Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Tuesday's Gone
Pink Floyd - Time
Queen - Fat Bottomed Girls

all great songs, i have heard them all 100's of times. I hope I never hear them again. how many times can people listen to the same thing and not get board, my God I dont think this shit wil ever die off-living in the past with 30-40 year old songs over and over and over and over and over. I cant stand it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New music for me, I dont care what it is, just as long as its new. I dont wear the same cloths I did in the 70's or 80's, Change is a good thing. Living in the past is the lowest form of living.

I'll add:
We're an American Band- Grand Funk
Raisa a little hell- Trooper
Drivin' wheel- Foghat
Excitable Boy- Warren Zevon
Gimme some Lovin'- Blues Brothers
If it takes all night- Dakpta
Bang the drum- Todd Rundgren
Gimme you're money please- BTO
Locomotion- Grand Funk
Jump_ Van Halen
I can't stand it no more- Frampton
Cocaine- Eric Clapton
Unskinny bop- Poison?
Wasn't that a party- The Irish Rovers
Shakedown Cruise- Jay Ferguson
Bang a gong-T Rex

Just to name a few.

Some music is timeless, like Bach and Blues, for good reasons. Most of the new music, to me, is trash, junk, worthless. To each his own.

Funniest thing I've seen in a while. We were playing in our end of season tournament recently and the bar we were playing in was playing Lady Gaga... Papparrazzi. Not a song I'm particularly fond of. Well, our guy shooting is a pretty big dude... certainly can handle his own in a fight. Here is this big dude walking around the table singing Papparrazzi as if no one is standing around watching him. We were all laughing and he didn't even realize it. His wife was even laughing... probably out of embarrasment.

By the way, his wife is smoking hot! Guess he is just really comfortable with his sexuality. He even has played with a Led Zepplin Tribute band! Crazy funny!

Stevie Ray Vaughan is forever linked to pool in my head from days gone by in the bars with my dad. The last bar I played league at had a little troll-looking-girl that would blow like $20 playing all of the Ke$ha songs on the jukebox. One at a time, sure, but more than that and I literally want to creatively dismember folks.

every single person on this thread should be shot....especially phread or whatever your name is...how in THE HELL can you all talk about pool music and especially phread or whatever because he used the guys name and the wrong song....and not put werewolves of london by warren zevon on your list...that should be at the very top of every single one of your lists, even if you dont like the song...its pretty much goes with pool as much as the hustler or the color of money does as far as movies go. i was obviously joking about being shot but come on people seriously!!!! thats like saying you dont know who mosconi is.

Good selection of music Chris. I just can't stand it when they play clubbing music in pool rooms - it makes me wanna smash every shot and spin the cue ball 10 rails to get shape. And if I do miss, I would want to slam my cue against the wall.

Van Morrison-Days Like This
Jonny Lang-Rack em Up
Jimi Hendrix-Voodoo Child / Slight Return
Lady Gaga
Anything but techno

I hate techno!

All the clubs are playing soft rock now days. (kkkkph)

I know it's uncool to talk about playing in the league these days but I have a song story about playing during a league night.

One session half our APA team decided to split from the team due to not liking the captain and the team's progression. So four of us made our own team and needless to say there was some hard feelings on their part.

Anyway. Next session comes and we are scheduled to play them and I call out their best player who is ranked higher than me at the time on the local APA website, so I can get the matchup that I want rather than the one they want.

After a lot of ribbing on the website we get to the match and I play the song Showdown by ELO to start. And I couldn't do it because I liked the guy I was calling out, but he is about 8 inches shorter than me so I was so tempted to play Short People by Randy Newman. I guess if I didn't like him I would have.

Any way...after calling him out I whipped his butt and he had to go on the website and let everyone know that I won.

That's a great list. I'd add Boston's 'Rock and roll band', and George Thoroughgood's 'Move over little dog, there's a big ol dog movin' in':)

in my teens Pegs Pocket in miami had a pretty strong redneck representation. Half the pool room was full of players on gold crowns, the other half was full of 8 ft gandys and lots of budweiser. I think during the first four years of my time there I might have heard "Country Boy will Survive" 500 times, easy. That and Freebird. Funny thing is now whenever I happen to hear that Hank song on the radio I cant help but turn it up.

Id love to spit some beechnut in that dudes eyes
And shoot him with my old 45
