Pool Halls NE Ohio

I will be in NE Ohio next month and wanted to hit the tables for practice because next week I am going to be playing in the cities. I'll be in Painesville so I don't want to travel much further than Willoughby on the west side and Chardon on the east side of that town.

I heard that Rack n Roll on Mentor Ave closed down (I used to work there 16 years ago) so I know I can't go there.

The only pool room in existence in NE Ohio is located in Canton Ohio- Fiddlestix. Chris Szuter is the room owner and professional player. Pool in NE Ohio is gone....

So 9 ppl have viewed this thread and none of em know of a pool hall in NE Ohio other than the closed down Rack n Roll?

I never thought I would say this, but I would hate to go up to Ohio just to drink beer.

I know that the Wickliffe Lanes has pool tables. It is on Euclid Ave in Wickliffe.

Akron has a few. Crown Billiards is on Manchester Rd. Small, but very nice. They take good care of their gold crowns. B-mers is on Tallmadge Ave. Its larger, with Olhousan Tables. Not as well kept as Crown, but not a bad place to play. There may be more, but those are the two I visit when Im back home. And as said, Fiddlestix in Canton. Never been there, but ive heard nice things.

Im sure there MUST be a table in Cleveland.. but I couldnt tell you where.

Most people play on beat up bar boxes and most leagues/action happen on the box. I know Crown and B-mers both have weekly tournaments and Im sure you can get action at both.

I haven't been there in a few months, but I think that Fox and Hounds is still open in Canton. It's a nice room with lots of wide screen tv's; rivals Fiddlestix in table quality in my opinion.

Pool Rooms

Fiddlestix is a beautiful room, the people are sociable, Diamond tables with tight pockets. They also have bar boxes and a cold beer. Chris Szuter and Shawn Putnam are the house pro's. Here's a story about Chris Szuter: Last month I took a trip to Ohio to spend a week visiting a friend and playing pool. We spent most of the week at fiddlestix's, I had a blast. One evening my friend and I were drinking beer and playing pool, after hours of playing and drinking beer I left my break/jump cue on the table next to the one we were playing on. I didn't realize the cue was missing from my case until the next morning, angry at myself, out of a cue and $650.00, I felt terrible. When we went back to fiddlestix that following afternoon, Chris Szuter found and returned my break/jump cue to me. Chris is a stand up guy who runs a tight ship.

Givin it a bump for the day to see if anyone else can point out any places. I probably wouldn't bother going to Cleveland as I'm visiting friends. I just want a table to practice for a few hours while everyone is at work.

Looking for some table time

I live in the heart of it all, and I would say that Fiddlesticks is the probably the best to go. B-mers in akron just closed down due to economy. it is right off the highway and has great action and drink. If you are even more bored, go the NFL HOF just down the road a little farther. GL!

Shoot me a PM I would come down and shoot with yah,

I'm guessing Fiddlesticks is my best bet for a decent hall. Do you know what time they open up?

fiddlesticks

They open 11:00 AM, they have a play all day special, I think it cost $10.00. My friend Dave is usually there during the day, PM me I sure he wouldn't mind playing some pool with you.
Take Care,
Charles

Totally wrong. There are a few places to play up here. There is a pivate
room called Continuous Play an parma. $ 5.00 a year for membership, and
you can smoke in there along with bring your own drinks. The tables are
awesome 4 1/2 x 9 Diamonds that were used in the US open. There is also
Classic Billiards in Eastlake. Small room with 5 tables, but 4 1/2 x 9 Gandys
none the less. There is Wickliffe lanes in of course Wickliffe. Its a bowling
alley with 12 talbles. Felt isnt the best, but the tables are nice old school
Brunswick 4 1/2 x 9's. There is BJ's Diamond Mine on the west side of
Cleveland. They have 4 1/2 x 9 Diamonds, and smaller bar box Diamonds.
In Cleveland Heights, Jillians is still open on Cedar Road. There is also L&L
Billiards on Turney road in Garfield Heights. About 10 nice Brunswicks too.
There is also a Fox and the Hound in Mayfield Heights, and in Downtown
by west 6th, I"m pretty sure there is a room called the House of cues. Now
I'm not sure about that one. It might be closed. Hey Justplay, I have no
idea how you live in Cleveland, play pool, and say that Fiddlestixx is the
closest pool room. The above might not be the happening places to go,
but they have decent tables to practice and play on. In most you can get
a beer and some food too. You can also find some small action too if you
like. Gimme a call Gunzby, I PM'd you my phone number.

I played at Crown Billiards in Portage Lakes, Very nice and clean pool room on Manchester Rd in Coventry Plaza. I found action there and I am sure you can too...Small but worth it..

Tim.

Mack's Billiards

Mack's is located in Brunswick, just south of Strongsville. Tables are an off-brand, but there are two tight boxes that play well, last I was there..

I definitely won't travel that far. Thank you very much for you suggestion though. Not sure if I will even make it out there now since my lovely fiancee' is shaking pennies out of my pants while I am wearing them.

I would like to thank everyone for replying to this thread.....I really appreciate it.
