Pool Has Always Been Dirty Deals

Pool has been like it is now for the 60 years I've been around it. Before the Internet, streaming, camera phones, and multi-media, the only ones that cared (or knew) what was going on at tournaments were the players that played. Promoters and players did what they wanted and no one else knew or cared about it.

Let's face it, the top players want no part of a legit organization. They want to do what they want and have no one police them. The promoters just don't want an Organization...no matter how much they say they do. Really tired of all the BS that will never stop. I'm glad I chose not to play in anything other than bar tournaments and never wanted to win any of them. Johnnyt

:boring2:

Well...if you only played in bar tournaments....

The 1980's was a great time to play and travel from state to state.

Sorry you missed it.

No.....pool hasn't.

People have.

The pool environment allows people to continue behaving that way.
And this is the big problem one needs to get rid off.

I'm all for a code of conduct which you need to follow. Else you are not able to play tournaments.

Cheers,
M

I think I understand what you mean. Part of what you are talking about is the players throwing matches, and other types of dirty deals, right? I imagine that pool over in Europe is pretty legit though. The top players over there do not mind everything being completely legit, because they have morals and ethics. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I think this bad image has mainly come from US pool. Do you think the Europeans would have done what the top US players did in the 91 Challenge of Champions? I do not know, but maybe those same type of dirty deals have been going on in the US ever since (but I am clueless about that).

The river is just as deep in Europe as it is here.
They're just better at throwing you in it.

I believe that you have a pretty good handle on it Justin. I also agree with Flash.

Same deal, different pile is all at times.
