Pool history in a nut shell...

I just received my copy of Freddy Bentivegna's
THE "ENCYCLOPEDIA" OF POOL HUSTLERS. Lordy, what a tome. If you have the least bit of curiosity about the world of pool hustlers, often told in their own words, you owe it to yourself and posterity to acquire a copy. It's a world very few, if anyone knows about as much as Mr. Bentivegna. The book is funny, colorful, poignant and chock full of BS from, as my friend, Evelyn Wanderone said, "all the counts and no accounts."
Freddy's book really does deserve the term "Encyclopedia."
Keep it nice. Alfie

Hi Alf, Last week I was visiting Joe Gold at his shop and was treated to several hours of road stories of his times on the road. He had some great tales of hustling down in Texas along with other places and how he managed to survive. It really was a special night with Joe and when he told the stories you could just picture it like it was happening live. Great stories from a great hustler! Guess I'll have to get Freddy's book, like yours it is a window to a time gone but thankfully brought back to life in print!
