Pool in Hawaii?

I made it back this morning, but my luggage didn't. My ivory Southwest is in there somewhere (or it was when I checked it in Honolulu.) United says the last time it scanned was in L.A. at 11:30 last night. I'm starting to sweat a little.

Dave, thanks again for everything. I'll see you again next year. And hopefully I'll still have that cue.

I'd be bummed if you lost my future cue!!!! That's one of the nicest SW I've seen in person.

P.S. I'm thinking of going back Dec 15 to Jan 15 time period ..

You might be able to pick it up at a South Central pawn shop in the next day or two? Cheap.

See you in December.

WOW, I sure hope your luggage shows up!! I hope we didn't moke you by talking about this kind of stuff the other day.
It was a real pleasure meeting you and your mother. Peggy really enjoyed her.
We may try to go to Manilla for the world. If we do, maybe we can sit and talk some cue then. If we don't make it there will always be "Next Year" Shoot well and get that cue back.

Dave,
United said they would deliver it tonight if it shows up. The phone number they gave me is a call center in India, so all I can do is wait.

I've flown over a quarter million miles with that cue, and it always shows up. Its been a day late a couple of times, and I sweat it every time.

Hope to see you in Manila. I've got small action with Jay. If he saw me play at Hawaiian Brian's he'd be betting his house.

No word yet from United. I hope I hear from them tomorrow. The sooner the better.

Maybe you'll find a keyboard with periods and capitals. Here's a few to hold you over:

You're welcome,

Hawaiian Brian's

It's sad to hear that about Brian's.

I remember back in the day (mid 1980's) it was the place to play when I lived on Oahu. That room had the best of everything back then.

Reminds me of the rise and fall of The Golden Eight Ball here in Arizona. It was another awesome room that spiraled into the abyss.

The rise was due to Pete Glenn, Pete built the business, he then sold it, the room then moved down the road a piece, then ----, and its gone.

Unfortunately, your baggage has not been located. However, we do have it on priority trace. We apologize for any inconvenience we may be causing you. Please check back with us in a few hours for any updated information.

It was last scanned in L.A. on Wednesday night. They want me to call them tonight at 9PM.

I'd be getting reeeeeaal upset by now. Even if you insured it and it comes up GONE, you just can't replace that beauty. I've got everything I can cross for you , crossed. Fingers, toes, arms, legs..........

I bet I get it back. I've got good pictures and the s/n. I know 90% of the potential buyers for that cue.

But most likely, I'll get my suitcase from United. I flew First Class, and I've flown about a half million miles with them. If its lost in LA or Chicago they will find it. That is most likely.

If some airport baggage handler stole it, it will be on the street cheap. It will probably quickly work its way up the ladder of cue people until someone figures out its mine. Its the only one like it.

I sure hope you get it back. Hopefully it went on a vourney in the belly of an airplane and just hasn't made it back yet.

Not the first time.

The last time United lost that cue was when I flew into the new airport in Bangkok for the first time. My first day without luggage there was a story in the Bangkok Post about lost luggage at the airport. It turned out that when they opened the airport the luggage scanner system wasn't working yet. They hired a couple thousand temps to manually read the tags (in an alphabet that was second to there own.)

The cue arrived at my condo about 30 hours after I arrived. I was still wearing all the clothes I'd travelled 28 hours in. One of my Thai friends bought me a new shirt on the second day because she said the one I was wearing stunk so bad.

I usually take shower at HK or Japan stop ..

And change into a fresh shirt and underwear ...

Good Idea.

I always spend my hour and a half at Narita on the internet. That trip my BKK flight was cancelled, and I had to hustle to get on an ANA flight instead. I wouldn't have had time to take a shower if I wanted to.

Good News Vs. Bad News

First the bad news:

They have not yet located my luggage, and the most they are liable for is $3,000 (that suitcase & contents is worth about 4 times that.)

The good news is they think it is in Chicago, and I have a buddy who works security at O'Hare. He can at least talk to the right people on-site that I don't have access to (all I can do is talk to a call center in India.)

According to an independent web-site on lost luggage, I still have a 90% or better chance of getting it back. It is not officially lost until 21 days have passed (today is day 3.)

I'd be pulling my hair out. "Lost in Chicago",
sounds like a movie. A horror film I believe.
I hate dealing with those numbers that you get someone a million miles away and you can't understand them. Why bother. It just adds to the tension of the situation. I think companys do that so people get frustrated and give up.
