Last night my friend comes over with her 2.5 yr old. He saw the table and me shooting, and wanted in. I gave him a shaft and showed him which end to use and HE DID!!! He would just move the balls into the pockets with the shaft and when he the balls were out he says, "all gone" LMAO. I asked him if he wanted more, and like a good soldier he shakes his head YES!!!!! He tried to chalk the tip w/o me telling him and was just grinding it on you know, so I showed him how to brush the tip and wa-la he starts chalking correctly. That table entertained him for about 2 hours till they left. Definitely was fun to watch someone so young be so mesmerized by something we all love so much. Who would have figured a 2.5yr old pool junkie in the making.

That's awsome man. My little cousins came over a few times when we had out table and thats all they wanted to do was knock the balls around with the short cues, lol. It was fun to watch

Great story. I let my 6 year old and his friends play as much as they want.

you have to admit, is there a better learning game/exercise for a young kid. Once a child learns to play some they are going to want to focus...its obvious that the balls go in the holes. They learn really quick that you gotta chalk the cue, you gotta line up. You have to take your time, which promotes a child to learn to focus, hell if he can focus enough to run some straight pool how well can he focus at school in a boring class? Hand eye coordination is also a big gain. I can't think of anything better to help teach a child so much by having to do so little. And the big part is they can do it themselves, which gives the parents an outlet, lol. Just like little man last night...2 hrs and not a worry he was right there and I told him what not to do and showed him a couple things and he was off to the races gave us free time to visit and occupied him completely.

my youngest is almost 3 and he LOVES my table... anytime he leaves sight you can usually hear balls falling moments later LOL ...

I have a shorty cue for my 6 year old ... but the little one gets much more use out of it than his big brother.....

he's going to be my pool-player...

the big smile every time a ball goes in the hole is a clear indication LOL

the more kids the better

that's the future of the game..

My six year old loves to play pool. he actually drew his rock the last time we played and was really excited. DAD LOOK AT ME DRAW THE BALL!

Man you gotta nurture that!

it's kind of sick but i've always wanted to have a kid and buy him/her a shirt that says "my 8 year old gives your 8 year old the 7"

tell me it wouldn't be cute to hear a little kid saying, during school lunch "pizza day is the nuts"

Now that would be the MORTAL NUTS...all the other kids would be thinking WTF, NUTS? Getting detention for calling the teacher a NIT, lil' man goes to the principals office and tells him oh well I didn't say she was a bad person, I just said she was a NIT for not letting me go to the bathroom.

For all of you that know mnorwood on here his little girl grew up watching us play pool since a baby, some of her first phrases were "daddy daddy play pool" Poor thing she used to run underneath the table and holler at the shots, getting all excited. Well one day she got a little too tall, and smacked her head underneath the table, OMG that was brutal...and funny. When you would miscue she would bring you the chalk and if you scratched she would say "stupid" LMAO.

I can't wait to have kids so I can turn them into little hustlers...who make good grades, always get the girl and always takes down the money. Hell I might even play my kids sets for what they want. Well now look little johnny daddys gonna give you the 5 out, I gotta shoot jacked up one handed and if I win you have to wash daddys car, if you win your friends can come over and I'll buy you some icecream. His friends come over and he ends up with tommys gameboy, jennys ipod, jacks bike....the parents start calling...hey dude if you can't pay the debt don't make the bet!

my 2 year old absolutely LOVES THE GAME and even likes to watch it on tv. As a matter of fact, this afternoon I had to bribe her to take her nap before we go play pool. She climbs right up there and goes to town. I think she has as much fun chalking as she does rolling the balls into the holes. I also like to set up dead kisses and combos and let her roll the ball into it. she can't get enough of it

Grandparents are easy to manipulate. Even a two year old can do it.

We tell our kids that grandparents cannot spoil grandchildren. We just love them and then give em back.

We have short sticks for the little ones and I have been meaning to come up with something they could roll around to shoot with at the table. Anyone seen any cool devices?

Very clever. I might have to use that line myself next time I run out!

I've got a 20 month old that's about ready to start. Do you put the 2-year olds on top of the bed of the table?

I never thought of that...that would be awesome...play a nice set and just demolish the other player, run out and say all gone lol. That would be seriously funny.

As for putting him on the table, yea I tried but he didn't want was kinda scared so he just walked along the edge.
