No, no, the tables are there.
I’ve never actually been in there, but i sent them a message to inquire about rates etc. and was informed that they only use the tables for league.
And no, Bruce, we have yet to meet but we did just do this same exact exchange through direct messaging here on AZ

Ironically Best Quality Billiards is across the street. Holiday Bowling Billiards was the place I was originally referring to with regards to Gambro. There also used to be a pool hall at Colfax/Sheridan called the Billiard Institute. I loved that place and the owner (Leif) was great. He owned the Mirage at one point. I remember a bullet hole in a window. Used to play there at lunch. A drug store sits there now LOL.

Best Quality is fantastic, i've been going there since i moved to denver and the same guy has been behind the counter the entire time. He recently put on one of pooldawg's milkduds for me and did a perfect job. The only irritating thing about that place is the beautiful brunswick test table they have in there that taunts me from the window.

I bought my first serious pool cue there (a Schmelke). Their store at the time was located down the street near Casa Bonita. They are one of the few stores around. You missed Showcase Billiards which was basically Disneyland for pool players. They declined to set up my 5x10 snooker table though but I can't blame them.
I use Best Quality Billiards to put tips on.
Usually it's a one day service.
I get solid tips for around $14 installed.

It's not an Apple store in that sense. They sell used Macs and I-Phones and do authorized repairs.
I was told in addition to the seven new 7' Diamonds, they were also getting a new 9' Diamond, to be placed where Table 1 is and Table 1 would be moved elsewhere.
I still go there for lunch when I have Fridays off.
Does anyone else remember Colfax Billiards? It was on Tennyson st around 38th ave. We used to come from Arvada and make the circuit from Colfax Billiards to Billiard Institute then Family Fun Center. Many nights we would leave Family Fun Center long after they closed the bar.
I never went to Colfax Billiards. I hear it was a great old pool hall though. I miss Shakespeares which was much newer but it was pretty high end.I remember going there and there was a big 3C billiard tournament going on. As I always lived to the south, I rarely got up north other than to work. Table Steaks and the Billiard Institute were my main pool halls for lunch time. The last time I went to the Family Fun Center they had a golf game going on. As a non regular I didn't want to interrupt it.
Actually the original Colfax Billiards was located at the corner of Sheridan, at the same location that became the Billiards Institute, and is now a drug store. And Boy Howdy do I miss Shakespeares...my home away from home and arguably one of the most elegant pool rooms in the US in the last century.
Could you be confusing Colfax Billiards with a pool room called "The Velvet Rail"?

The Velvet Rail was where I was first introduced to the Denver pool scene. There was a strong Billiard player who hung out there and had a run of nine 3C billiards in a row. He preformed this run while I was watching.I had never seen the game before that.

Colfax Billiards was at 38th and Tennyson. That is fascinating and makes sense that the Billiard Institute was the original Colfax Billiards as it was on ....Colfax. That was before my time, I played a fair amount at the BI. Not a huge market for big tables these days. Much more cost effective with the bar tables esp the Diamonds. Give the customer what they want. I play out of the Mirage and I remember a 6x12 snooker and a 5x10 snooker along with Gold Crowns. I used to practice with pool balls on the 5x10 that I believe was a Gandy. That was are 1993 when I moved to that area from Aurora. I used to play at Pink-Es which had all of the tables decked out in pink cloth which was hideous LOL. I miss Shakespeares.
By the way did you guys see the anniversary snooker table on the Co Springs Craigslist?
