So basically I am looking for financial information on pool rooms. We have 1 pool room where I live. I am trying to find out how it is doing. Does anyone have any idea where I can look or who to ask in general for this kind of information? In the past I have asked retail establishments how they were doing and they always say we are doing good. Then like 6 months later they close. And most of these have been mom and pop stores. So anyone got any idea?

Thanks

people are strange...

I understand that it takes all kinds but you ask some really odd questions...

Its a private enterprise. Not a publicly traded company. You're worrying about things you really shouldn't. If they close they close.

You remind me of some guys on the action scene that would ask me “Got any money?”
...usually they wanted a loan or wanted to be staked.
I would tell them “None of your business..state your case or go be nosy elsewhere.”

If you think your question is reasonable....disclose all your assets in this thread.

Because of too much free time due to COVID-19........you can’t find out and have zero rights to learn a
single thing about the business unless you believe rumors or spoke with the owner who’d exaggerate.

Jaime, How about limiting yourself to one new subject post a week? I know you're an enthusiastic new player but you are overdoing it a bit.

You could go through their trash.

Sent from the future.

Basically this since it’s a private business.

If the OP really wants to know then find out when they throw their trash out and you may be able to find bank statements. It’s the only way.

You and Lioness have zero game.

Tell the owner you're a CPA and you'd like to trade doing his taxes for table time. Table time with a bridge on it.

This ain't that hard.

Just find a publicly traded pool room, their books have to be open by law
Well, one set of their books may be open. ;)

Pool has the huge advantage of no physical inventory. That's also a huge disadvantage if you hire crooks for cashiers.

All you have to do is clock the table traffic for a few days during the week and also on weekends, then do the math. You'll get a pretty good idea of it's income, then call a few local landlords to get an idea of rent per square foot in the same area. Estimate the rest.

If I want to find out how a pool room was doing I wold approched the owner, pretending to be a rich investor.

Then ask ever consider selling. If the guy said yes.

At some point his Bicks would help justify price.

The quickest way to tell how a room is doing is to see how many bridges they have per bar box.
