Does your local pool hall run any specials like ladies's night? What specials do you like , dislike?
Are there any specials that seems to bring in the locals who just want to play every once in while?
Drink specials? Time specials?
Ladies night 1/2 price pool. But I have to put on a dress and shave my legs. Did you ever try to play pool in high heels? And don't get me started on the things I hear when I have to stretch for a long shot !
Some specials out of the rooms I play in are at Best Billiards in Las Vegas from 10am until 7pm you can play for $8. At Kolbys Corner Pocket in Tempe Arizona it is $8 from noon until 7pm, ladies night where they can play for free on Thursdays and 2 for 1 beers are on Wednesday night.
My locals offers the following
Tables 1-7 - 9ft Old table loose slates no bouce rubber and cheapass cloth - $full price
Tables 7-12 - 8ft Old table loose slates no bounce rubber worn out cheapass cloth with unidentified stains $full price
6x12 Snooker - on no name brand Loop pile carpet, chipped cheepo balls $full price
Miserable coot behind the bar - $free of charge
Table 5 - Smell of pee $free of charge
No specials except a membership for $150/month. Other pool halls in the area have similar rates. As a student it seems quite pricy but then again these pool halls have been around for 20+ years...
Golden Cue (Albany) - $10 play from open to close on Thursdays
Diamond 8 (Latham) - Half price mondays, different drink specials most of the week
I forget the name of the one in Clifton Park, haven't been there, but I hear they have a $5 play all day on Mondays

Yes my pool hall does on day a week where all you have to do is buy one thing, anything, could be one bottle of water, one beer, popcorn whatever, and you can play as long as you like.
Then on another day of the week they have unlimited pool for five bucks.
On those two nights there are definitely a lot more people there than the rest of the week, so it seems to work.
In addition to the bar "Drink Specials" (different one every day of the week)...we have a "Daytime Special"...$10 per player...from OPEN (11:00 AM) til 6:00PM
No, in my pool hall there are no special offers or events. It was couple years few 8-ball tournaments.
But I get from the owner a good deal 30 hours of table time for 65$.
• Free pool if you buy $10 worth of food.
I like it but some places have pretty weak food and I'll just donate it to someone.
• Free pool before 7 weeknights - see this one in places that seem to be struggling.
• $8 all day til 7, another $8 through the evening until close.
Pretty good concept, First Break in VA does this, not sure which nights.
Pretty much guarantees $16+tip from everyone who walks in the door.
Seems like the places with the best equipment do the fewest specials.
I shot at Q-Ball last night, and they have a whopping 10% off for APA members.
And yet I'll keep coming back cuz they make enough money to keep their tables in great shape.
