I'll be driving through both these cities on my way to St. Louis. What are the good pool rooms?

Dunno about Charleston, but silver cue in Lexington on new circle road or yesterday's billiards in the bottom of Rupp arena are about it these days. Of the two, the silver cue will have the players most likely to wager a few bucks. Neither have tables worth a damn, witch is why I generally stay home.

If you go through Louisville, then bank shots is the place to go, with older diamonds, a cool as hell vault, and action.

Cheers,

JL

That vault door is waaaaay cool. I passed through there in 2014 and stopped in. They had a lot of cool old pictures on the walls also.

21 Poolroom in Charleston WV is the only poolhall in town anymore. It's a sad thing, used to be 3 or 4 places years ago. But the 21 is a great place. Friendly people and excellent food and drinks. It's not huge, but they have 2 9ft Diamonds and 6 Diamond 7ft smart tables. Every Friday there's a tournament, rotating between 8ball and 9ball every week. This Friday it's 9ball. I can't make the Friday tournament, but Saturday is the monthly king of the hill 9ball tournament, and I'll be hitting that. It's a tough format, but typically we get 40 to 60 players, and from all over too. Entry is $25, have a calcutta and good cash payouts. It's played on the 7ft tables.

PM me when you plan on passing through, if you'd like to hit some. If you're looking for action I'm good for it, or I can steer you into a good game.

There's action, but you better be ready for the humidity. I was in there last week and started sweating within five minutes of being in the room. 95 degrees and humid outside, and barely any air conditioning to speak of inside.

If you thought it was hot upstairs you better never go in the basement.

Yep....Bank Shot's vault is cool, but the older pool hall atmosphere is cool, but that's the only coolness you're gonna get. I am becoming a glove wearer due to humidity in some of these places.
