Pool Secrets

Naji, I saw you today playing Buck. Hope all is well. All I know is, if you're putting out a DVD - can I just be in the background and maybe I'll rack balls or dance.. or something?

Oh Matt, you are funny, for DVD to be good, i have to have a beauty queen rack the balls!! sorry you are denied, i only played one game with Buck, you missed my action with Kevin Bailey, that was good.

This has been my experience at pro events as well. Not that I am a player, just a spectator.

Mine too, and I've played in MANY PRO EVENTS. Rack a piece is respect and is common, but not always the norm but, naji not responding to you Fran is loud and clear'. It's ok to be wrong or make a mistake, its another to admit it and move on.

How did you play Kevin, and most importantly, how did you come out? Now......just to give you fair warning....you know the next time I go to the pool room I'm going to be talking sh*t to whomever will listen that you said on AZBilliards that you're going to be making an instructional DVD. You're an old pool room friend, and you know I have a lot of respect for you...and hell, I will buy the first copy if you seriously make a DVD....but, I don't want you to be surprised when you get asked questions about your future instructional DVD.

Before I knew how to play I learned that jumping below the axis is a foul. Even if you are serious, how will you ever know what it is you need to work on if you never run into a person willing to GIVE you the cake? Working extremely hard on something unnecessarily is pretty insane, wouldn't you think?

We will only have an agreement if you come to the conclusion that it is possible. Then, your only choice now is to seek out SECRETS. I know this may smoke your wires....but really think about it.

You can work as hard as you want, but you will never get there if you don't do the right things.

Not sure what your smoking but Hitting the ball slightly below the axis at a downward angle is the way to jump. (not scooping) I never said don't try to learn tips or tricks. You know, you need to go back and read all that I have posted in this thread, then when you have a clue we can talk.

You're right. I may be a jerk sometimes. I could have word it different. Sorry. Anyways about pool secrets. I think there are many. I'm always trying to learn from people who I think knows these secrets. They are always willing to help if you treat them like they have something of value, which they do.

Thanks Island Drive and all, All i am saying be at the table first, this will give you more time to practice. I did not say Pros will deny you practice. My comment intended for novice, and from experience. When my match is called, i went to my table and my opponent is already practicing on the table do not know how long he has been there?

Thanks Matt, this will only make me better and more determined. Had Kevin 3 games up, and broke even at the end he quit. Man that Kevin run a rack of one pocket as if it is nine ball rack amazing, what is more amazing is how fast he shoots.

9. Pro players know the game, when a match is called, or arranged match, you will be surprised they are there before you at the table to prevent you from practicing. Insist on having 2 to 5 min practice at least"

Sorry, but neither of your comments make sense.

I am calling you out Fran! At the Fury Grand Intergalactic Championships in 2004 you totally bogarted the table in our match. I got there and you were practicing and practicing and wouldn't let me near the table. I actually felt quite scared when you whipped your cue backwards with the tip pointing inches away from my eyeball and said menacingly, "sit down, amateur"......

:-)

Kidding of course. In my tournament experience I have rarely if ever had anyone pro or not tell me I couldn't hit some balls on the table we were about to play on.

Although I think a good line would have been for any of the better players to say to me, "go ahead, it's the most balls you're going to get to hit in this match....." drumroll please ;-)

Drat! I can't believe you remember that intergalactic incident!

You know as well as I do that the biggest 'secret' to playing great pool is one that so many people refuse to acknowledge -------- H-A-R-D W-O-R-K. Here's the secret, folks. If you think you're working hard and you're not improving, work harder.

Everyone is capable of figuring things out, however, most people want others to figure things out for them.
