Pool Shoes

Be Careful Where You Step

Socks, shoes, they all help and each person will have their own preference. For shoes, I actually like basketball shoes, which seem to have the most comfort.

But to really let you in on my secret.....(this is going to make you laugh but it's true): My feet used to hurt, well actually they ached a bit after playing for from a few hours to several hours and so I tried many different shoes and socks which helped marginally. Finally after getting only temporary help and short term relief with the shoes and socks, I started exercising my feet and toes. In the morning I would get up and there did not seem to be a lot of blood flow in my feet and it was like my feet weren't getting enough blood circulation. For my entire life, I never flexed my toes, you know, like a monkey can do where he bends his toes so that he could pick up a pencil. Well, I started flexing my toes and exercising my feet before I get up in the morning or any time I am laying down with my shoes off. I can tell you that my feet and toes are MUCH stronger than they have ever been and my feet no longer ache after a long session on the pool table. I still get tired but my feet don't say, "Please don't ever do that again". :)

JoeyA (strongest toes on the forum) and have run out of pencils at home that have not been broken

Nice post. I just ordered a pair of HIP BOOTS.

its all about the socks these days.

a man after my own heart. i actually do just take my shoes off when i play. i do tend to catch alot of crap for it, but its much more comfortable.

Lol

The ole Pool shoes thread ... LOL I have emailed Nike, Reebok, and Rockport about Pool shoes, but, evidently, to no avail. I feel that it is a specialty niche in the market that would take off. I, also, think that teenagers would go for them too.

'And 1' is my next stop for an email about Pool shoes. (I have some killer And 1's I like to play in).

ROFL ... I never wear a button down shirt when playing, and I never wear white underwear when playing in a tournament.

How many of you 'have to have' your butts and shafts in a certain slot in your case?

Check these out .;) http://www.zcoil.com/ People I have asked who were wearing them, swear they are really all they claim and more. What I like is custom fit, for some reason one foot is 1/2 size bigger than the other. Kindy of nerdy, but at 60, i dont care i want comfort. Now i just have to convince the wife I NEED them.

Did you every find yourself saying "Go Go Gadget Pool?" :)

Thorlo socks paired with any massively padded skate shoe is the absolute nuts and can give ANYTHING else the orange crush. You all seriously have no idea what you're missing.

Those Thorlo's do look nice! The blend is real similar to the Gold Toe Athletic and 3x the price. I do play with Diamond Chalk though!:D

These look comfy! :D

I know there have been threads about great shoes to play in, but I think it should be addressed occassionally as new one are coming out.

Whenever I shop for anything, I always consider how it will affect my pool game. Shoes especially. I look for good carpet traction, comfortable sole & good comfy interior. I'm currently playing in some Johnston Murphy casuals. They are extremely comfortable in the long haul and grip very well.

Does anyone have shoes that you swear by as "players"?

Ray

I usually use a size 14 baseball clete for ultimate traction while breaking then quickly change into my house shoes.

Thorlos are absolutely overpriced, but they're the best I've found. I will definitely try some gold toes. I've probably tried them in the past when I was on the quest for the perfect sock, but that was years ago. The skate shoes make most of the difference though.

However, I find it absurd that people decide on whether or not to purchase their clothing/shoes based on how it could affect their pool playing.

I agree completely. I would never purchase clothes specially for pool. Im just talking about whats in my closet that is the most suitable for playing in. For me.
