Pool Shoes

Have any of you guys ever went out in non-rubber sole dress shoes not knowing you were going to end up playing pool? Many times I did and while reaching on one leg for a shot have my foot slip and the family jewels come crashing down on the top of the rail. Ouch. Johnnyt

I have a pair that do this! My family jewel took years to grow (beer gut)and I wouldn't want to put that in harms way. :D

See, you just assume what is seemingly the obvious. I gought those strictly for yard work and if you pay closer attention, they are the 6th pair of them Ive owned.

Furtherly, I've not fallen in the yard in over two years either. 61,60,59,58

Come to Fast Eddies next weekend in SA for the tournament. I'll show them to you. I'm supposed to play BP some more $5.00 9 ball { I guess his wife does give him an allowance once in a while, who could blame her if you have seen him play} and you can see them up close.

As long as you're not light in the wallet....try these-
classic looks, ULTRA comfortable, waterproof (in case of clumsy friends or opponents after a few drinks  ), and the softspikes give excellent traction after said spills!!!! :D  :p

Are we talking 8-bal, 9-ball, 14-1, 10-ball, or 1 pocket. I have different Japflaps for all. But then I do have a limbsaver on my cue for toe protection.:D   :D

Motorsports style shoes are the best to use period. Created so that every little vibration is felt by the foot, its almost like playing barefoot.

I found these to be pretty comfy, and they help you keep your feet planted solidly all the way through your shot!

Asic Gel Runnig Shoes serve me well.

One night at Metro Sports in Phoenix there was a lady playing in Cowboy Boots, with Spurs. Thay were muddy, and I think she was a Cowgirl.

i perfer to play barefoot, I awalys have, I do at most pool room's(they are cool about that at my regular spots-even though I havent been out in a while)when I cant I like Converse All-Stars low tops with no socks.

Years ago I had a pair of Nike shoes nothing special but I liked them so much I wore them until I had wore the soles out they had big holes in the bottome-bigger than a silver dollar on each side, but other that them I never found any Nike's etc that I like to play in, bouncy shoes just dont work for me, I cant get lined up right-it screw's up my pre shot routein, thats why I like to play bare-foot I can feel the ground same for playing in flat footed shoes. Feeling the ground for me as important as a good cue, its all part of the game.

I've found that these Adidas microbounce lites are the nuts for me. Ultra light, great grip and comfortable. But I have to say, shoes are an extremely subjective thing. What's good for the goose might not necessarily be good for the gander.

not to argue with you, but that "Grip" thing is what I dont like, if my feet are planted and I'm not lined up good then I cant adjust my feet to get in line better, however when I do play with shoes with a good grip then when I do line up right then yes its better than barefoot-but I need to be able to move my feet a bit, which I can do in the Converse shoes too.

like you said its all personal perferance, there is no right or wrong. How the snooker players play with bow ties on is what really amazes me.

Nike Free Trail 5.0 for me.
Lightest, most comfortable shoe
I've ever owned with great
traction.

I live about 5 miles from NIKE HQ,
and I asked a marketing VP why
NIKE did not design a shoe
exclusively for playing pool and
was told basically that market
research showed pool players
to be cheap bast*rds that
would not support the
investment in such a
specialized product.

So much for NIKE corporate
support in the pool world.

Fatboy, I know that you can afford these so later you're going to tell me that I did you a huge favor.

For a number of years now I've been wearing shoes and boots made to measure for me by Russell Moccasins. Within all the shoes and boots they've made for me of course I have a favorite. These are suitable for use with jeans or anything but shorts. They have a true moccasin vamp which cradles your foot. The Vibram 2060 sole must contribute too because I've tried it on other boots with good results. If you're not near Berlin, Wisconsin just send them your foot measurements and about 3-4 months later and $225 less in your wallet will get you extreme comfort. I guarantee it. I have foot problems, have diabetes, and am a big heavy guy. Shoes are important to me when I'm on my feet for hours. Have a look around their site. They've been making sportsmen happy for 110 years or so...Tom

If he buys the company I bet he gets them in under a month. Johnnyt

A lot of players swear by Nike Shocks.

Personally, Ecko, K-Swiss, Y-3s all feel comfortable when playing... Nike Air Force 1s arn't so great to play in, they are a little too stiff and by the time you wear them in enough that they feel comfortable they just look awful.
