I do agree, some of the stuff is juvenile and i think perhaps some league players might like some of the stuff but die hard players want simpler and tasteful stuff such as Hustlin and their line.I do like the Road Hustling shirt and the Major League Hustling, they are pretty cool, the others not so much.Russ Chewning said:I'll give some honest feedback, and hopefully it won't be taken the wrong way.
I like some of his t-shirts, but they seem very much aimed at the "banger" crowd. I'd feel a little embarassed to wear most of them, because they seem just a little too juvenile. Maybe okay for the 16-19 poolplayer crowd, but not for any serious player past that age.
Also, it seems like we don't HAVE many serious players in that age range any more, so any sports brand needs to be aimed at a more mature age bracket.
Tony Hargain seems to be doing phenomenal with HustlinUSA, and I would not be surprised to see some of his stuff in Hot Topic soon, if he makes the right contacts.
I felt a little sorry for Njhuster1 at DCC, because he was set up right across from Tony. Maybe he would do a little better to aim for a little harder edge to his stuff? This seems to have worked for TAR, Freddie Bentivegna, and HustlinUSA.
High stakes pool is a gritty world, that appeals to some pretty hardcore types. The demand is certainly there for this market, as EVERYBODY at DCC was wearing HustlinUSA and Banking with the Beard stuff. I think TAR shirts would do MUCH better if they rebranded into something that was not specifically associated with the internet. I wear them, because they have some cool sayings, but to someone who has not specifically heard of TAR, they are gonna be like "What is TAR? Nah, not gonna buy the shirt, even though the sayings are cool as hell." They don't want to have to explain what TAR is.
Anyways.. Just some thoughts I had. I figure any feedback is good feedback, since these guys are all trying to make a living.![]()
