Colin, it's not an FTP server, it's a DC++ hub. You need a DC++ software to log on. Put "dc++" on google and download the client.

well I have the DC++ program DL'ed, but I cant figure out how to view anything, or even tell if I have DL'ed any folders from others [fin]Buddy for example.

A:select file - settings - (new window opens) - share (u put a V on the folders u like other people to be able to download) & settings ( u can see in the red circlet 2 places, the top is the important one = this is the place where the downloaded files will be put in if u want to open them later. (feel free to change the folder to a easyer place to find)
picture2:
Q: How can i see what files people have:
A: once on the hub screen (looks like a chat) with names of people at the right, "right-mous-click" and choose there ; Get file list. (on the example i choose miko his file list

A: i always press the 2 icons on top. 1st one to see a screen that displays all the files that are waiting to be downloaded, or are downloading. The 2d one to see a screen that displays all the files that are finished and put in the folder we named on picture 1
now, After in picture2 we choose do download the file list of finbuddy, this screen will open. U can see , finbuddy has different maps, and one named pool where u can find all his pool related stuff. if u found the file u want, double click the file to request downloading it or press right mouse buton on the file to have other options. (more advanced users, but not needed)
The windows at the botom of this picture, well tell u the status once u choose a file. it will :
A: download, and u can see the speed and how long it will take
B; say; no users online. All people who had the file u wanted went ofline

I often play in LLN (every month, there is a 8-ball tournament) and I played twice the 9-ball tournament at Heverlee.
I play (alone because there are no good players) in a local next to the French hospital (Berchem-Ste-Agathe) quasi every day. It is a 1-division snooker club, with 5 8_feet (I think, no 9_feet, for sure) pool tables.
Maybe could we once play together.
FYI, I am French-speaking. If you are flemish, Ik spreek niet zo good vlaams maar is niet zo erg denk ik?

about club, i dont play in a club yet. i had some proposals from clubs in leuven and others, but I wanted to wait as i got good news. Luc a player from down town jack in leuven and board responsible for the region vlaams brabant, has told me the board has been interested in starting a club that would be part of the BPBF in brussel. Now the problem as u know, is that there arent many good places in brussels and the table quality are crap. for a club u need a minimum of quality. I am going to meet him when he has a day of to visit all the clubs in brussel, check the poolhall for quality and talk to the owners if we find a good club. Once we have found a good place in brussel, that has easy acces we will start the first Brussels club there. Small weekly tournaments, play the national competition (we need 4-8 players). In the national tournament, there is only one player from brussel , me. SO for the moment, im also looking for players in brussel who would like to be part of a club. Im VERY interested in meeting u, and maybe we could discuss wheter u are interested in helping or just being a member of this still to come club. For the moment, i know these people would be interested:

i will also give u more info on national competitions, local tournaments, etc etc.

Still can't connect

I have downloaded the software you recommended and followed the directions given, but I still get 'connection timeout' each time I try to connect.
Do I need a username and password?
What else might I have to add to the connection settings to make it work? I tried passive mode too.

Probably u get disconnected because u dont have 2 slots open, by default the program sets it too 1. wich most would use to download from others, but then u wont have a slot open for them to download from u, and thats not the point of sharing. (normally u only have to write this one time, the first time u enter the poolhub, it should remember it for the next times.
If thats not it, ill ask around what else it might be, but i thought i had someone say; hi collin on the hub not so long ago... let me know if the slots was the part u forgot or did wrong, or if its something else. Ill try to help u Calcul8r

Ok, I downloaded the file but it is a .rar file and my computer doesn't know what to do with it. Seems it should be a .exe or something. Any input?

rar: use the program winrar to open it. I dont know how big the program is, else ill put it on my own site for easy downloading
