Pool Vocabulary Section (tab)

JAL (Jim) was wishing for a word that described the two important things that affect a cue ball's path after being hit with side spin. I suggested SQUERVE which is the combined Squirt + Swerve.

This made me think about the many lurkers and new people that continue to come into the pool world and wonder what this means and that means.

AZ is an indoors contemporary amphitheatre for pool enthusiasts and I think it was discussed once before but I think with AZ's position in the pool world a vocabulary section would be nice.

For those of you who are not registered and wish there you could easily find the definition to a particular pool word you don't understand, register and voice your opinion. Your opinion probably matters more than you will ever know.

Those of you who have already registered, please join in the discussion.

Accurate definitions mean better understanding. Better understanding means better communication. Better communication means more harmony.

All right, every one together - Kum- Ba- Yaaaah.

Seriously, what's your thoughts about the need for such a Tab on AZ.

I think it would be a great idea, especially for those that don't understand gambling terms, or terms that are game specific such as the 14.1 terms such as key ball, break ball, foot spot, and kitchen...lol ( believe it or not -many people don't know the difference). I think alot it can be transferred over from the RSB FAQ - I'm sure Bob Jewett still has that somewhere - so it shouldn't be that difficult to do.

that glossary is pretty good. I spotted a few holes tho, like when someone posted about 'hit and the pick' I had to kinda figure it out, not being a 1P player. They're also missing 'woof' :) But they had "tap-tap-tap".

Good idea

I have been around pool for 46 years but have not been a part of the gambling side of the game. When I read the posts on AZB I sometimes feel like I am listening to a foreign language, which it is  . A vocabulary section would be wonderful. I think JoeyA has a very useful idea, as usual. JMO.

On behalf of all us ignorant and inexperienced lurkers, I'd like to thank you for your consideration.

We're glad you registered and a belated welcome to you.

So what about it maestro? Can AZ come up with a vocabulary section/tab?
