Well, I'm sure this has happened to a lot of you. I was mildy given the choice of:
A) spending more time with the girlfriend or....
b) Playing pool.

Now, knowing that I was a Pool hall Junkie right from the start and that If anything, I was planning on spending more time playing pool she shouldn't have been suprised when I chose to play pool given the ultimatum.

Oh well, as they say plenty of fish in the sea.:D

OMG do you ever have that one right. I think her chin still hurts from it hitting the floor because of the swiftness of my decision.

No, now thats going to far, dumping your Girl Freind for pool? there is always time for the Ladies.. number 1 rule every player should know...

Yes but if it coincides with league play, thats a no no.

If it was that easy of decision she must not have meant much to you in the first place. Eventually one will come along and that decision will be a lot tougher. Hopefully anyways.

Let me expound on what I said. It sounds a little cold.

The girl I'm seeing now understands me. She knows pool is my addiction and that even though she is second to me, she is a very very very close second. The one I have now isn't just some chick and I'd rather not lose her. So its not a matter of dropping one for the other, its more a matter of who asks me for time first. :)

And hell, she even knows not to pick a place to go out for the night thats close to a pool hall or has a pool table in it. LOL She's a keeper.

:D

So true, i don't know how many battles i went through over wanting to play pool. My mind was always set on playing pool deal with the mess later. What i did was got her into liking to play pool, so she is more supportive of it now. But yes the thread does bring back a few memories:D

I bumped into a friend last night who is in the same sorta situation - he's got a girlfriend who initially claimed she didn't want to monopolize his time, yet more and more gets upset when he chooses to play pool instead of spend time with her. Not that he's exclusively playing pool - he splits his time - she's just upset she doesn't get ALL his time.

On top of that, he had plans to meet up with her last Saturday and she (to hear him tell it) completely flaked out on him - when he's going to spend time with her, she's not there. :P

I've never met this gal but I'm starting to suspect that relationship isn't long for this world. :/

There is a remedy to the problem , become a world beater and bring home the cheese , money talks.

Good for you!!

You will make someone very happy someday! She clearly wanted to mold you into what SHE wanted you to be. You will find a good woman who loves you for who you are. One that will not be jealous. One that will enjoy a person who lets her do her thing too. GOOD move!

You could also have given her a choice, "be yourself or be yourselfish."

Made that decision over a 4 yr. relationship.......Sad to say I chose her......But snuck out and made excuses all the time.....she still doens't know. :D

And none of you better tell her.......

You sir set the bar high.

I almost have a tear in my eye, and am beaming with pride just to be able to read your post.

You want what you want, have your priorities, and stick to them. I'm sick and tired of listening in on guys on thier cell phones telling their wives/gfs that the tournament is an hour longer than it really is, just so they can hang at the bar and drink with their buddies.

The World would be a better place with more like you, and I wish you were closer so that you could mentor my son how to be a mans man, not one of those soap opera wishy washy mamby pamby wussy boys society is pumping out. I'm sure you too busy drinking beers, smoking butts, kicking some tail on the pool table, and tagging anything that moves.

With people like you, sir, there is still hope in this World yet.

Play on...

You are right that there are plenty of fish in the sea. Until you find someone who understands you, The SupergreenMan, keep on playin' - the table and the field!

When you find one that you want to spend more time with, rather than go to the pool hall... Look out brother! You're gonna be pickin' out matching china.;)
