POOL'S 15 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE/BRANDS OF 2021

even though i'm not a trick shot fan, florian "venom" should probably be higher up, his view numbers surpasses everyone elses and draws a lot of eyes to pool.

I had a cursory glance at your list and must say that it is a big upgrade over the last one.

For many of us in these AZB parts, the inclusion of Sharivari and not Dr Dave won't make sense, but you've done a pretty good job this time around. Take a bow!

The engagement Florian gets on social media is pretty incredible. 1.1MM subscribers on YouTube, and his videos rack up tens of millions of views.

These lists need ‘qualifying’.

China, Taiwan, Philippines, Brazil, Russia don’t exist? Do Americans never get embarrassed by their myopic view of ‘best lists’?

Venom? Talk about a list losing credibility.

However, it’s all in fun and gets us talking.

I’d put Dr.Dave in the top 5.

Really - Ra Hanna doesn’t even merit one of the roughly 50 nominations for his Junior International Pool tour? And we wonder why the future of US pro pool is so bleak?

Here’s a guy who’s finally trying to do something about it and is succeeding! What an unpardonable omission!

I suppose we need to remember that the title is "Most Influential". In a similar vein, one year Time Magazine awarded it's Man of the Year award to Hitler. And another year to Gandhi. One can justify some of the above-questioned choices based on influence.

So Bob, please help me understand, some of our most knowledgeable and influential members here - Yourself, Stu, Jay and Freddie are all snubbed from the nominating / voting committee and we’re suppose to take this list seriously?

The most glaringly obvious blunder of this list is not recognizing the coveted “Fatboy Seal of Approval”

Without that it’s a shameless self promotion and/or paid endorsements.

Watch and see what I accomplish and do this next year or 2.

I’m not looking to make a penny, but there needs to be a standard of approval in out industry. That where I’m sticking my flag in the ground.

Any monies I do generate will have a open books to the general public and to what youth pool program gets what.

Glen should be on this list. He helps a ton of people and the guy is a walking encyclopedia of pool tables. Dr Dave should be on this list also imo.

Thank you, sir. However, it's not "my list". It's a list compiled by opinions from 11 "professionals" and hundreds of "non-professionals" (People's vote).

Personally I think Niels should be a bit higher up. From his commentary at the Mosconi Cup to his youtube channel, he does a hell of a lot to get players to the level they want to be. Just a really chill dude who is passionate about the game and isn't afraid of helping others up the ladder. He can describe in depth even simple concepts and not make it feel like you're being talked down to. We need more commentators like him, explain what's going on to the general audience without making them feel dumb. For pool to grow, you must teach what's going on. I bet in the UK, everyone from an 8 year old to an 98 year old knows how many points the black is worth.

No Dr. Dave yet again, who has and continues to educate the masses with much more accurate and comprehensive pool knowledge than ever in history, and being done at a much faster rate than ever in history, and by orders of magnitude on all counts? And then the inclusion of the WPA, who not only are not very influential, but are actually highly ineffective and have been all but irrelevant? These are just a couple of what would be numerous examples. Your list is a joke and a farce and will continue to be as long as you continue to have clueless idiots as a judging panel (some of them may be "big" names, but that doesn't change their cluelessness).

I think it's important to remember that AZB is a very small fraction of online pool players. Far more people seem to participate in the pool parts of Facebook and maybe reddit. Also, whether you enjoy his videos or not, Florian Kohler has had around 300,000,000 views if you include guest appearances on other channels.

The members here tend to be pretty serious about the game compared to the internet average pool player. And the average real-life pool player has not yet figured out how to draw the cue ball. Really.
