Well i have a friend his nickname is popcorn ,his real name Richard miller.Anyway popcorn is always telling me stories about when he was younger and how he use to run with some great players,Grady Mathews,New
york blacky, korn bread red,the list goes on .The stories are just great but all the while im thinking is he for real. So does anybody remember a man they
called Popcorn.

Yeah, he's for real! I have a story about him in my book. Not a very flattering one though.

If it's the Popcorn that I knew I thought his name was Johnny Miller. Played a fairly good game of one pocket. He shot almost standing up. He looked like he was just practicing.

The one time I saw him play against a friend of mine (back in the sixties) he shot a three railer and went eight and out. I didn't see much of him but I was impressed of what I saw. I haven't heard of him for many years.

That's the guy! I played him several times, at Banks and One Hole.

He was a doozy

Tell the 'Corn the Beard says hello. I'll never forget when he put a cue ball in a sock and bopped this interferring tush-hog over the head at the Rack in Detroit. The guy was an ex-fighter and a creep and 'Corn warned him to stay out of his game. He didnt listen, and the next day 'Corn was ready for him with the sock when the guy started up again. Whatever stories he's telling you are probably true, unless he starts getting into how good he played. He was a good undercover shortstop and a good hustler. If he says he had a stable of champions -- he did, and he tried to steer them all into me.

Freddy i tell him you said hello.

Popcorn - Just quite couldn't get there

Put me in there w/Jay. If you busted him or his players(always did) you didn't want to play against any of his Necklaces or bracelets - have you ever heard of GREEN gold ? But, I always liked Popcorn, he was a hoot to shoot the bull with. I haven't seen him since the late eighties or early nineties. Tell him thenuke (Clark Kent back then) says hello.
