But IMO what is much more annoying is when asked for their price, the seller says...."well, I don't know, make me an offer". At any rate, not having pics or a posted price would not deter me from seeking out additional info if it is something I really want.
skins said:the reason for posting this poll was because i see too many ripping a seller for not posting an add in the manner "they" (the too many ripping the seller) would want rather than maybe sending a PM to them outside the thread offering their suggestions or just moving on. imo EVERY seller does have the right to post a sale in the way they want but the trend has shown, at least from those who have responded so far to the poll, that more would completely disregard the sellers post if the price and or pics were omitted from a "for sale" add even if the seller puts instructions on how to obtain all relevant info. now i truly believe this is all a bunch of bunk and think most would not "completely disregard" the sale but if it were true, it actually makes me kinda' happy. it tells me that the "fickle" side of the majority from this site outweigh their desire to actually acquire an item they would "normally" be interested in. it would leave more "diamonds in the rough" so to speak, for those who actually care about getting what they want and not those who would rather complain over the way it was listed. i guess it's kinda like "to the victor go the spoils" or "ya' snooze ya loose" sort of thing. ya' know when i used to trade at Chicago Board of Trade i was taught to NEVER let any piece of info slip by you, analyze everything and go the next step if it's what you want. well it's obvious, and a shame to me that so many here are willing to forgo what they want because of something as trivial as having to make another step to get it. you can dislike it all you want but to not even consider an item because of that leads me to believe you never really wanted the item in the first place.

The only thing I can think of as to why a poster doesn't post the price is b/c he is expecting someone to over-bid the cue. This in itself makes potential buyers back away.

Some people don't want to take the extra step to the sale. for anyone who wants something there should be no boundary on what it takes to get it, especially if it only requires an "extra step" or two It's not about being fickle, how about some courtesy to the other party and post a price or pic or both. courtesy??? imo the seller sells it his way for whatever reason. he's already giving the "courtesy" that it's now available for sale for someone else to enjoy and gives instructions on how to 'learn" more about it and how to obtain it
Or maybe there is no pic because the item isn't what is being described. Again depending upon which side of the transaction you are sitting on, will govern your train of thought. my "train of thought" is if i want it i do what the seller asks within reason and having to respond with a Pm or email is a small price to pay for a "diamond" and even you can't argue with that.

So why should a seller make any effort to sell????

skins said:some of them don't "have" to sell. they might be testing the market waters so to speak. i see nothing wrong with that. but in most cases they just ask for a pm or email to acquire pics and price. i don't see the issue.
Jazz said:You're absolutely right .. they can sell anyway they want to and buyer can pass on any potential they want to. Now if the seller is interested in "marketing" then they can try to accommodate the potential market.

charley, Best put yet! congrats on turning pro and cleaning up!cuedoctor said:No pic's,no price, ....no problemIf I really want it 'll ask. What bother's me more is cues for sale posted by one peson that doesnt even own the cue or have it. I can see if the owner isnt computer savy but I see alot of cues passed around from one seller to another to see who gets lucky.
