posting someone else's eBay listing thread

well everywhere you buy stuff is like that..who doesn't want to pay a good price on cue and all kind of stuff that peoples want..but again
if peoples love the item or peoples realy look into the item they will pay the price if your really a pool player or anything u woudn't mind paying for the price of what you really love..
we pay our price for the cue and we dont complain so pay that little extra you gonna blame peoples because the price is a bit high?

I agree with Jazz. If it's your item, or a freinds, = pimp it here on AZ. If it's not, your only helping a non AZer sell something. If it's a " good deal", buy it yourself on e-bay and sell it on here, that way 2 AZers win. You get to make a couple bucks for noticing a bargan and another AZer gets a good deal from a reputable seller. I frequently pay a couple extra $ to a reputable AZer. At the same time, I shy away from those with suspect ratings/rep on AZ.

I'll go against the grain here and disagree. I don't think we can create a "gray" area and say it is ok to do it for a friend or other AZ member but not for anyone else. Isn't posting a thread about a good deal on Ebay sort of the same thing as posting a thread about a friends cue? You are still trying to help other members in general or you are trying to help drive up the price of a friends cue. Ebay isn't a secret anymore. I would say that most of the buyer/sellers on here check Ebay daily anyhow and know when a cue is a good deal or not. The guys who complain about this topic are probably the same ones who constantly send low-ball offers to other sellers
and try to get something under value. There is nothing wrong with someone getting a fair price for what they are selling. If you pay more than what it costs new or pay more than what you feel it is worth then shame on you...jmo

I don't see anything wrong with a buyer trying to get the best price possible on a purchase. When you go to a car dealership...do you pay window sticker price or do you negotiate? After all, The seller has the option to accept or decline any offer.

I don't see where I said there is anything wrong with it either, do you? I said I don't see anything wrong with a seller trying to get a FAIR price for what they are selling. Fair and sticker price may be the same thing but not necessarily. I never said there was anything wrong with negotiating a purchase price either. Fair is the key word here. No I am not surethat will make everyone happy either, as I posted for a friend his one of a kind Bender who was not a Forum Member, had no desire to join a Forum, but had a very unique Cue for sale. There was a lot of moaning about that.
Funny thing is the Cue was SOLD to a Forum Member in Louisiana who was apparently totally elated with the Cue.

JMHO, and I will never post a "STEAL" on ebay that isn't my own, or somebody I know and can trust, so that it has a better chance of not being a STEAL.

Yes, I totally agree. It is all about reputation. When you post something here, you are connecting yourself with the listing - WHETHER YOU MEAN TO OR NOT!!! Some people might think the Ebay seller is reputable, and that the cue is exactly as listed, since a certain AZB'r posted it. It is a fine line to walk. What if the cue is bought on ebay by a fellow AZB'r, and they are scammed? Do you want to put your rep on the line for an unknown seller, because you promoted it?? This might be dramatic, but it is true. You are what you post!! Maybe rep doesn't mean anything to some, but we are a community that should be looking out for each other. So buy the cue at a sweet deal on Ebay, and sell it here yourself, and make the money.Jazz said:

I agree with you but at the same time I am a cue junkie and like to meander around looking at everything possible. I look on Ebay and on AZ so I suppose I am just like a dog chasing it's tail. So, I agree.
