PPVs

The only way pool streams will work if they are cheap and the streamers make up the rest with sponsors. No one has been able to do that yet in about 10 years of streaming. If they couldn't do it in 10 years, it looks like it can't be done and PPV viewersship will get smaller and smaller. Johnnyt

The cost can be reasonable IF you have a few friends over to watch and everyone pays some money.

This is a good point too. Probably easier to get everyone to come over if you have a table at home with a tv in room that you can put the match on so you can watch and play at the same time.

Same as pool in general, a new business model is absolutely necessary for the sustainability of streamers, otherwise they too will perish along with the game itself.

Promotion is crucial, and at this point it's all our responsibility to give this back to the game, that give us so much pleasure and satisfaction. We all must be ambassadors if we expect this to stick around. Should all of us simply take and never give back, then there will be eventually be nothing left for anyone.

The commenter that mentioned bringing someone new to the game at least every now and then is definitely thinking right.

Upstate Al just posted in the Live Stream forum that the price is now 20 dollars per day or both days for 30 bucks. I'll probably buy the stream now at least one day. That's still a lot of time to commit to watching pool for a race to 100.

Which is why I wish they offered a download of the entire match after it has streamed, so you could watch it at your leisure. I did this with TAR so I could watch thirty minutes and come back later and watch the rest. I know I don't have the time to watch the entire stream, so to download it after even though I would know the outcome is just fine with me.

TAR was great at that.
