What is the longest solo practice session you have completed?
Pros and Cons for long sessions?
Mine is 8 Hours 10ball practice!

1. Experienced Player: someone who has played and practiced for 20 years + may only practice for 1 hour tops (if that) - this will be concentrated on single shots and / or certain scenerios the game can throw up. This type of player rarely benefits from long hours at the practice table.

2. Inexperience Player: someone who has only played and practiced the game for 1-2 years. Should, IMO practicing all the hours they can get!

So basically; your answer is dependant on who the player is and what they hope to gain from practicing.

KEY POINT: Practicing for 8 hours will not improve the pool players game if he / she are not practicing the correct aspects of the game or the weaknesses in their game!

I agree practice sessions vary from player to player. Carry a note pad during a match and give yourself information on whitch shots you need to improve on.

Shane is one of the top players in the world and he consistently practices for 10+ hours a day. Your comment regarding little benefit for experienced players isn't always the case. All of the top players practice much harder and longer than you think.

Thanks for response! I am in the 1 to 2 years of playing pool category!
And i do what SVB says he does, I break and run then wen a shot i struggle with comes i work on that! I will stick to long sessions due to love of the Game! :)

I never practice, I wish that I can, but I just never do, don't have a table and can't practice on the poolhall, if i'm there once or twice a week, i'd play one set and thats about it, but I play real good for somebody that don't practice and just play twice a week.
