I'll second that. Older Ford pick-ups are generally indestructible. A friend of mine rear-ended an early 90's F-250 once and almost destroyed her little Jetta. The guys truck had ZERO damage. In fact, he had a rock on his rear bumper that didn't even fall off!!!

Prior to getting their new car atwo weeks ago, they did have a p/u truck...Bob's work truck which Eydie drove most of the time. Unfortunately Bob was involved in a wreck a couple of months ago.... While they were waiting for all the dust to settle, they were using a rental car. Due to Eydies back problems from previous wrecks, the sedan rental car started to grow on her. It rode smoother and it was easier for her to get in and out of. Climbing in & out of the truck wasn't doing her any favors in the long run.
I left her alone yesterday to try & give her some time to rest. I'll try to reach her this evening and give you guys an update.

I just talked to Eydie and she wanted me to tell everyone thank you and she dearly appreciates everyone's kindness. 
She is home but because there's still a lot of swelling, they don't know exactly what kind of damage has been done to her back. She said that she's stiff and in pain. She will go see her Dr. early in the week and hopefully they can do an MRI and tell her whats wrong.
She did sign on today but was only able to get to the 2nd page of this thread before she had to sign off and lie down. She asked that those of you that have sent her PM's and called, please give her some time to rest & recuperate and then she'll be able to reply. She sincerely appreciates everyone's well wishes.
She closed by saying "tell them to pray for me to finally have good luck instead of bad."

I am just humbled by all your kindness! This thread, the many emails, PM's and calls I so appreciate them all!
The Jag will recover, she's a tough gal! Can't say that much for the other person's car, from what I hear it's a loss. The left rear of the Jag was smashed, light, trunk side panel and bumper. I can just imagine what it's going to cost to fix that!
We were out to lunch with a friend and were on our way home sitting in the right turn lane at a complete stop. I was driving Bob was in the front passengers and our friend was in the right back passengers. The car was at an angle due to it being in the turn lane, so guess who got the blunt of the impact? Yep, that's right me!
Some of you may know that I already have several ruptured discs, in my neck and back 2 ruptured discs in my neck one that is compressing on my spinal cord where an impact such as this could have left me paralyzed. I am extremely grateful that I am okay for now, but feel like one big bruise. I am going to try to get out today for a few. We have a tournament that I am going to just stop in at and then leave.
I can't tell you all how much I appreciate your kindness. Thank you so much again. I will be thinking of you all, it will just take me some time to get back in full swing!

Tough break. That is some bad luck.
I was in 1 auto accident and I wasn't even driving. We got rearended on the interstate in pooring down rain. I had to drag the girl who rearended all of us out of her car because she snapped her forearm bone in half and the car was fixing to catch fire.
Other than that I have been lucky.
Hopefully they'll get her on some demeral or morphine to relax her until she heals better. Maybe someone can send her the various seasons of Family Guy so she can see her man Stewie. Get well soon.
