Prayers needed for Terry Ardeno

I don't know exactly what the deal is

fatboy,

All the information I get is through Terry and I don't ask too much. He has had recurring infections since a few days after surgery. My opinion is that it is an operating room infection that they have never really cleared up however that is only my opinion. They were trying to fuse three levels so deep infection is very serious.

They have brought in an infectious disease specialist. Talking to Terry it sounds like they are culturing a sample to discover exactly what they are fighting. In the meantime they have already taken pretty radical steps to fight the infection. It does sound like any course of treatment will run for weeks or months even if he goes home in the next week or two.

Those of us that aren't there and privy to all information can best help Terry by giving our support and prayers without questioning his decisions or his doctor's decisions.

Let me ammend by previous post and say that I would really like to get something going to send him something. Hu, if you need help let me know. I want Terry to know how much we are pulling for him. I think he, more so than most, would find strength from that.

Get well soon !!!!!!!!

Terry is one of the few people on here you can tell just how he is from the posts he makes. This is for sure a case of the good guy getting the bad roll. Wish you a speedy recovery Terry.

Count me in for 20 also - just let me know where to send it. Although I've never met Terry, I consider him a friend and my heart goes out to him for what he's going through.

The hospitals usually have something on their website. We send notes through there and then they hand deliver it to him. I should have explained better.

But, since that might not be an option, I'm IN for sending him something! I'll put in $20, also. Good idea, Hu. He's one in a million and I'd really like to do something like that for him.

Terry is going through an extremely rough time and I'm not contacting him myself. Being Terry he will tire himself talking if we call him so I didn't even ask which hospital he is in, just asked him to call when he felt up to it. They finally gave him enough stuff to knock him out and get some sleep. He said he had been awake 52 hours straight until they did that.

I don't think he can access e-mail or anything right now even through the hospital. He has the circulation sleeves on both legs and two drips going into him so any shifting of position is with difficulty and requires assistance. He requested that local friends and family stay away from the hospital for the first few days, he is saving his strength for fighting his battles.

I haven't given this any thought but if we want to we could probably get a balloon bouquet or something sent to his room. Maybe we should get one sent to his room with a big ol' teddy bear, that's pretty much what Terry is.

Any other thoughts? I didn't intend this thread to be about anything but prayer but something in his room to remind Terry of AZB might be nice. If people are interested I'll put the first twenty in the pot.

much like the jacket

Melinda,

Much like the jacket idea, just something to brighten the room and give him a visual reminder of his friends here. I am going to check on what the hospital offers for communications and it seems that raising money for something to brighten the room was super easy. I'll just hit the online florists to pick out a balloon bouquet and get it delivered.

Will pray for him!

My 1st cousin just had knee surgery and she had a blood clot go THROUGH her heart and her lung and luckily she survived. All caused by surgery.

I hope he is well and will pray until he is well and out!

We never know what will happen during and after a surgery. Your cousin was indeed lucky that a blood clot went through her heart and lungs without killing her and hopefully without causing major problems. I lost a friend to a blood clot. One of those times he would have been a lot better off without the surgery but we never know and all we can do is play the odds.

I don't know how much harm this infection has done to Terry and I doubt the doctors do yet. Hopefully once the infection is beaten the surgery itself will be a success but that is by no means certain so we can only wait and see.

Great idea, I'd like to kick in a little something too.

I have hesitated to post this but Terry has been in and out of the hospital several times in the last month and has been in the hospital about a week now. The problem is a major infection. This is from the surgery months ago.

The infection has been getting better or worse but never going away. Terry is now in the hospital for at least another week, maybe over a month. The doctors are telling him one to six weeks. A lot of med's going into him for the infection and pain. The positive things are that his spirits are good and he is a man of great faith.

Group prayer seems to have performed a few miracles in the past that I know of. Terry doesn't need a miracle but he does need some help battling pain and infection. This struggle has went on for months and that is why we still don't have Terry back on the forum. Those that pray, please send a few prayers up for Terry now and in the coming days and weeks.

Thanks to All,
Hu

My most reverent prayer is on the way for Terry.

Terry has many friends, Christians, non-Christian and even non-believers and the postive thoughts and prayers from all will mean a great deal to him and his recovery. Terry is the essence of humanity, friendship and what a man should strive to be.

We want you back Terry. Get well and God bless.

Galveston is just 3 1/2 weeks away and we expect you to be in the Chat Room viewing some of the FREE LIVE-STREAMING that will be broadcast during that ten day period. There will probably be a FEW of YOUR favorite commentators doing the task so I know you will enjoy it immensely.

Thanks for the updates Hu. I'm in also. I sent you a pm. Please post how you'd like to receive $'s.

Thanks also for heading up the gift for Terry. Sounds like many here will kick in and you may end up with enough $ to something pretty sweet (like having a sexie certified masseuse come and rub his... feet? Where doesn't it hurt on this poor man!!??) Maybe a big ole teddy bear and flowers on second thought, lol.

Stay strong and positive Terry!!!!

Thank you for letting us know about Terry's situation.

I sent you a PM

Terry will definitely remain in my thoughts until he has recovered.

I was wondering if Terry had ordered any of the new AZB T-shirts yet?? I think the "Got Rep" one definitely reflects how everyone here respects Terry.

It could just lay over a chair where he can see it & fight for the day that he can wear it.

It will take some time to get it delivered but in the meantime I can "loan" you mine & you could return it when Terry's is delivered.

What do you think ??

Meeze :)
