Pre-date 8 min to go on ebay $2000

i had a bid at $1800 or so and for some undisclosed reason Ebay canceled the item.i am curious to know as well.

Keke i have to confess i was curious also and tried to take a look following the link.

Such a sad way for such a nice cue to be sold. It is after all a JF!!

What happened? Did you pull the plug on ebay? It's no longer there.

Didn't think the plug could be pulled that close to auction end.

Can someone that knows clarify?

the auction wasnt pulled. he posted at 4:15 and i clicked that link at 4:28 and saw that someone already won the auction. i wont disclose the amount since i am unsure of why that auction is no longer showing so i dont want to mention anything other than the fact that i saw it end and there was a winning amount. i can say with 100% certainty that it was not pulled.

the auction doesnt seem to exist anymore so perhaps a fradulent buyer won the auction with a hijacked account?

I verged on trying to win the auction at the last minute, but decided not to bid, since it has never been made clear if the shafts were original or not. The auction did have a winner to the tune of $2075 dollars. The winner supposedly had a bunch of feedback, thats all that I recall....

It was canceled by ebay cause the winner was not legit, claimed smb bid on his behalf. The cue is available but even I cannot say the shafts are 100% sw but the cue plays like a as older one. Vass

When SW authenticates their cue they only authenticates the butt?

Laurie confirmed the cue came out of the shop in 1985 originally with 3 shafts and also she said the ferrules have been replaced and shafts refinished.

This is all I know.
I let the cue go for 2075?
I think this is way too low even for a market like this.

Best regards to all of you.

Vass

The cue is only worth what somebody is willing to pay.

This cue might be worth more than 2075 if several of the following factors were present: better condition, full 13 mm shafts, everything original (including ferrules, taper, the shaft itself, original finish, and even the original wrap length).

I thought long and hard about making an offer to you prior to ebay, but after the Kershenbrock debacle, I did not feel comfortable. It's a very nice looking cue, and ironically I would probably love the extra wrap area, since the short wrap on most SW's is too short for me.

You might have a better time selling it if you are very specific about all aspects of the cue. It's one thing to buy a cue for a few hundred dollars, and learn that the shaft is not original, but it is another thing to buy a cue for several thousand and learn that the shaft might have been made by somebody else. 2k is not chump change, even for a SW.

since you guys raised the question with the Kersenbrock.
I can speak up the whole short story.
Ed Young mentioned the cue looked like one of theirs but needed to speak with DPK. These guys are extremely busy and it took like 3 months to get back to me.
In the meantime Laurie said even the cue was made by DPK in SW shop the cue is still a pre-date sw not DPK.

The cue by SW records came out with 3 shafts and macarda ferrules but they have been changed and shafts refinished by smb.

Anyway the most important thing is the cue plays like a DPK more than pre=date sw.
I've had 3 DPK cues and they played different than sw.
The sound was More "Crisp".

the cue is still mine and this is like 3rd time it comes back to me not because ppl were not happy with it but had some $$$$ problems paying it off.

God bless!
