The shafts of this cue have some of the most desirable shaft wood that I have ever seen and they are both full 13mm shafts. Cue has just been completely re-finished at SW shop.

This is one of the best-hitting cues I've ever played with. It is rare to find a SW that has a somewhat traditional veneer color-scheme like this one, especially with 3 veneers. The matching stacked veneers at the bottom, ringwork, and crazy birdseye maple make this probably the best cue in this price range you'll ever touch....and a Franklin-era LOA from Laurie.

Nice cue...good luck with the sale. Market is a little slow; you may want to rethink your price. If you really want to sell it.

When I think about buying a high-end custom made cue, something like this really comes to mind.

Currently I play with a "Just-Fine" production cue. And the more I play pool, I always keep my eyes open to that one cue that if I ever bought and played with, I may as well be buried with it.

At my funeral they will say, "Yes, Dave loved to play pool. He deemed his cue worthy of being buried with him."

Well sir, what you've got here is a burial cue.

That would be your Macassar Ebony.....which is a dark chocolate brown with darker or black streaks. I have seen this cue in person, and I can tell you it is stellar...with probably one of THE best, most highly figured BEM I have ever seen in a SW cue, let alone possibly any cue.

Best of luck on this one, Danny! This one of the very few SW I have ever seen that I truly wish that I could own. :(

Good question---I have a mid to late 80's SW that has almost the same exact look. Mine has BEM points and the same wood in the nose as the butt. I have been told by cue makers that know wood that it is Pau Ferro(Brazillian rose wood).
 
The answer to your question is to
ship your cue to Laurie in Las Vegas
with a check for fifty bucks and
she will issue you a letter of
authenticity that will tell you
what woods are in your cue,
it's weight, and when it was made.

It is worth doing.

My cue is as I have described it
as I wrote the description word
for word from Laurie's LOA.
 
If I had the cash the cue would be in my case,that is the end of the story..I guess I will have to keep using my downey and The other 2 cues :D :mad:
