Yep. Rick Howard came up with the first J/B cue. Now look how many copied that design. If you came up with it, you're the innovator. If you took someone else's design, you're an imitator.Fart sniffer said:So does that mean everybody that makes a jump/break cue spun/stole the idea from the first guy that made a 3 piece jump/break cue?
Fart sniffer said:The back ends are hollow? I have had both and didn't think either one of them had hollow handles, where did you see this? Regardless of my affiliation, past or present, I have never seen a cross-section, diagram or anything to show that any part of the handles are hollow.
In fact the 3rd piece on the Stealth cue was very heavy, Ned gave me the one I had for years when he designed it and partnered up with Mark at Stealth to manufacture.
Da Poet said:Thanks because honestly, I wasn't crazy about it and I haven't seen any good player use one ever.
I mean yeah, it's lighter and all of that, but otherwise I just found it to be too flexible to get a consistent "pop" out of it.
To each his or her own.![]()
Fart sniffer said:Well maybe if these things had patents I could see it being "ripped off", but aren't some ideas kind of eventual discovery? Like they would have figured it out and probably come out with something like that on their own given time?
Shawn Armstrong said:Yeah, discovered with time.......and Google. Key in "jump cue". Or, go look at the Billiard Warehouse website. It would take you a whole 2 minutes to rip off.............I mean, "eventually discover" the Stealth AirTime.
Do you know if there are any of Ned's cues for sale anywhere or would he build a new one if a customer wanted one?FAST_N_LOOSE said:NED'S CUE IS AWESOME. I HAVE TWO, AND WOULDN'T TRADE EM FOR ANYTHING. I AGREE THAT THE AIR, IS JUST PREDATOR HALF ASSED ATTEMPT TO COPY A GREAT CUE.
I TRIED THE PREDATOR AIR, AND IT'S THE THIRD BEST JUMP CUE I'VE TRIED. THE "DEUCE" BY KILLER MILLER IS THE SECOND BEST (AND BY FAR THE STRANGEST DESIGN)
CocoboloCowboy said:My first Jump Q was a Frog, I sold it in about 15 day. I could not make it work (JUMP) it was me not the Cue. The Jumper I am iusing now work real will, but I will admit it would be nice to have the extention the other guys offer.
