Predator Challenge of Champions. Fedor vs Filler vs Biado

I like this except ditch 9 or 10 for banks.
No, just no, banks is only relevant at derby city and there is no banks world championship to give a starting winner to challenge. Although 8 ball wasn't much better in this case.

matchroom commentators are better
when they don’t force the british terms
on the game of pool such as

draw level
three- nil
pot the ball
cannon the brown seven
third frame
on the trot
total clearance
break off shot
with pace
into baulk
the rest
mid session interval
it went scrappy
force a decider

etc, screw, fluke, in-off

not that i don’t fancy
flawless sessions of snooker
with cracking pots and massive clearances,
delicate little nudges and telling safeties

i will admit that check side
is more precise
than inside english
especially if you are english
I don't mind all the terminology (possibly excepting the term "screw" instead of "draw") but I do dislike their saying the "red three" rather than just "the three." If the ball colors that had been in use for a century were maintained, this would be unnecessary.

Still, the three best game analysts right now, by a mile, are Boyes, Jones and Frost, and Matchroom continues to enjoy their monopoly on the very best commentators.

Agreed. Eight ball is very dull. Sometimes, after the break, you would lay twenty to one against a failure to run out the rack. It drains eight ball of all its excitement. The kind of racks that require any real thinking are few and far between. Difficult shots are very rarely played in eight ball. The game on anine footer is just too easy for elite pros. Oddly enough, it's a good game on the bar box, where far more strategy is needed and where far more clusters must be addressed.

The real problem is that one pocket is too slow and banks is too obscure to merit inclusion in an event like this one.

I think Predator had put together a great event here and has hit the ground running. Bravo!

Stu, at what Fargo Rate do you estimate that 8 ball on a 9'er becomes "too easy" and a decent break/spread of the balls equals an almost guaranteed runout?

I agree Karl and jj are the best. But they do also say the red 3 etc when commentating. I think that’s just down to hopefully talking to a new less informed audience that is helping grow the game

Yes, I WAS saying that Matchroom commentators say "the red three" and that I don't like it. Other than that, Karl, JJ ad Frost are all exceptional and far better than anyone who commentates Predator or WPA events.

BB 8 ball is the nuts, as much as I dislike both 8 ball and BB, combining the 2 is a win

Put Corey D in the game and I'm watching all day

Frost has been an excellent surprise as a commentator for a few years now.

I've always had in my head if i had my own tournament. I would do something like this with multi games and have one winner. I would probably throw on 3 cushion and Snooker too. Maybe 14.1 too
You realize the problem of installing three types of tables?....with multi slates?
