Just got an email...apparently the prices on all predator and poison products are going up 10-15% starting july 1. anyone know about this?

It doesnt affect me cuz i dont use predator but others who are thinking of buying predator stuff might be interested in this announcement.
 
I think its because they stole their designs from NASA and have to play them back in royalties.
 
Well i mean their cues apparently destroy asteroids so they were stealing that tech from somewhere NASA the ARMY the CIA who knows but not to sound like a ten year old but ooooooooooo you're in troubleeeeeee. lol
 
I also heard the following:

Starting on July 1st, 2008, no American company is permitted to ship Predator or Poison Products overseas to the following Territories:

Austria
Netherlands
Portugal
Belgium
Italy
Singapore
Caribbean (Southern)
Korea
Spain
China (Mainland)
Kuwait
Sweden
Finland
Japan
Taiwan
France
Malaysia
United Arab Emirates
Germany
Norway
United Kingdom
Indonesia
Philippines


Now, I'm not sure what this exactly means.....does it mean that no American based distributor/retailer can sell to these regions and that Predator will handle the retail/distribution themselves? I dunno.....

But definitely interesting....

Most likely it's a price control issue. The American dollar has been tanking recently.... and foreigners have been on a buying spree. The folks at Predator figured that they can make an extra few bucks by imposing a ban on foreigners from buying at American prices.....that way, they can protect their comparatively higher prices in foreign dollars.

Predator has exclusive dealer relationships in those countries on the list which is why US based dealers are no longer able to sell in those areas. Dealers have also been asked to change their pricing to reflect the new MSRP and minimum advertised pricing policy by July 1st.
 
They are pretty much acting like they were The Only Company Making Cues or something...

May ask from who did you recieve that e-mail? You must not answer, only if it's not uncomfortable to you.

I got the email too. I can't remember who it was from but it was one of the web-sites like ozone or something. Obviously one I have bought something from before - I just can't remember which one.

I've got the same email from an American online store, one of the largest I suppose. First I thought it was about cancelling all supplies to the countries mentioned but now I figured out it is just about Predator trying to gain more profit from these markets.
 
I suppose that Predator has got Authorized Dealers in the countries mentioned above and Predator wishes to protect their business by not letting US or other dealers export to that specific country.

That price increase stuff should help them sell even more products until that deadline.

Why get a Predator when you can get a good custom cue at the same price anyway? Besides, low deflecting shafts can be also be achieved through the cue's taper.

IMO, Predator is so over rated & over priced :mad:

Well, there's MEZZ which a lot of people say is better than Predator in the Productions Cue category :rolleyes:
