Predator Shafts ????

My friend dosen't have access to a computer so I said I'd help him.

He bought a Predator Willie Hoppe at DCC from a Vendor, and the shaft of the cue warped ( Badly ) in about a week.

He did not subject the shaft to any abnormal temperature change or abuse it in any way.

I wrote to Predator on his behalf and the don't or won't seem to answer me regarding this issue.

Shouldn't Predator stand behind their product ???

They made the shaft ! ( Predator #2 )

I would think a company that depends on us players would deliver better customer service.

Anybody have any suggestions on how I can help my friend get the service he deserves ??

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks...........Tommyd1

i would almost (not quite) bet my life that either the shaft was warped when he bought it, OR (and less likely considering the time frame)......

the shaft is somehow a bad one and warped very quickly. even if you did expose it to something the time frame is in your favor.

both of these are in your favor. explain to them the time frame this happened (ie take action now) and that the only two viable options are probably product fault. i would personally even fib a little if necessary and say "ive been a predator client for 8 years and never had a problem, but im never gonna buy another predator so and so again after this unless I get this taken care of blah blah." and you always have to ask to speak to the highest possible person when you say all this. remember, workers don't care, but managers do.

Enzo,

Thanks for the suggestion.

We rolled the shaft two hours after he bought it and it was straight !!!

A shaft should not warp like this................no exception !!

I've been a respected member of AZ for a number of years and I don't make false claims.

We'll see what happens.

Thanks Buddy, Tommyd1

Tommy, there are a few guys here who are/were affiliated with predator. Just keep the thread up, and if necessary, bump it occasionally, and you should get some helpful responses. Sorry this isn't necessarily one of them.

A friend of mine had the same problem. We took the shaft to the Pred booth at the BCA trade show. They wouldn't replace it without taking it with them to examine first. They did indeed send him a new one after a few weeks. With that being said I've had 2 brand new 314-2's sent to me in the past couple weeks...both were warped so badly it was unreal. They were returned to the vendor...waiting on replacements now.

You should contact predator by phone 1-888-314-4111 They always give us great customer service when we have any type of problem. If the cue was bought from a Predator dealer and it was new you should contact the dealer you bought it from and send it to them to send back to predator.

I have been using Predator shafts and or cues since I started playing pool and what used to be a good product is now junk. The new shafts are a-1 crap,if they dont warp up on ya the furrels will definatly break ,,I have broke 4 of them in about a year and a half. Now ,,that being said ,,Predator has repaired them at no cost for the fix but you do have to pay shipping both ways. I was gonna buy the Willie Hoppe cue too ,,,but I am done spending good money on garbage. My advice to you would be to try and find a good pre cat 314 ,,they were made back when Predator still cared about making a good product and not saving a few bucks!!

I had a problem with a Predator shaft and contacted them in Jacksonville Florida I believe is where they are located and they were more than helpful and I got a brand new shaft.

Thanks for all the responses and PM's.

I will take every suggestion and give them all a try until this matter is resolved.

What vendor did he buy the cue from?

Predator

I would stick the shaft in a box with a letter noting the issues that your friend experienced and send it on it's way. The shafts not doing him any good in the condition it's in apparently, so the best thing to do is let them take a look at it and make a conclusion.

yeah, ive had a pre 314-2 for years now and never had a problem with it. its funny how many times in life you see the "upgraded" product actually get worse. not saying for sure that is the case here but this does happen many times.

I wonder if john schmidt would have this problem:thumbup:

Isn't he sponsored by predator's main competitor? If so, his problems would probably be worse:)

Customer Service Much Appreciated !!!

I just want to thank all you guy's that gave me suggestions regarding my Predator Shaft problem I had originally mentioned in this thread.

I called Predator on the 24th and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Neal.

He listened to my problem and offered a quick resolution, I'll be sending him the shaft tomorrow.

Today, I got home and checked my e-mails and was pleasantly surprised to have one by Roderick Galan of the Predator Group. He offered his assistance as well.

This is what I call GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!

Thank you Predator Group and thanks to you AZ guy's for cluing me in about this company
