Predator Wisconsin 10 Ball

What more empirical evidence do you need than the fact that Roland Garcia brought second in the Arizona Open and Bader Alawadi brought second in the Wisconsin Open?
LOL.

Garcia carries a Fargo 797 and is the 27th best player in the world by Fargo. He finished third at the Derby City 9-ball, eliminating Van Boening in the late rounds. You're not trying to suggest that he's a Cinderella, are you? He's a very elite player that came second to Biado at the World 9-ball Championships in 2017.

Bader is another story. He made just one of his four spot shots against Yapp in the semis, and yet Yapp, after making his first spot shot, missed his last three to gift Bader the match. Yes, Bader, still a strong player in the Fargo 750s, who came 9th at the International 9-ball, is a better example of a dark horse.

One dark horse making a deep run is hardly enough to make your point. I need a lot more empirical evidence than what you are offering.

Garcia is one tough nut to crack.

What is/are the issue(s) you have with the CSI link when it comes to a what you refer to as a lack of thought? Check out the pros sponsored by Predator. I don't think they'll stop supporting this tour. Do you?
Please re-read what I wrote below the link. Not the best sentence construction with double negatives but works for this purpose.

What's up with my request to add the Arizona list to your spreadsheet? Figured you knew the next question coming 😃

Anyway if you are looking for a Cinderella other than Bader why don't you list all the players in Arizona and Wisconsin with their Fargos and the put beside each name the amount earned. Bet we find Cinderella and her sisters 😁

I don't like being given assignments. Anyway, the past is history. I'm looking forward to seeing what we get at Las Vegas. Perhaps Bader's deep run will motivate some top Americans to take a shot at it. Hope so! I'm keeping an open mind here. Perhaps things will look better then. We shall see. I'm especially mindful of your suggestion that this tour will succeed even though the top American players are steering clear of it. Perhaps you are right, but I'll believe it when I see it.

If you look at this series as a commercial to promote Predator and CSI you will see where I am coming from. This is not specifically a money making venture like Matchroom events and the Derby.

This series will only fail if sales and participation in CSI events do not reach the companies goals. Why do you think Predator is the signature sponsor of Mathroom's PLP? It's all business my friend. You have an MBA so you should understand what I mean.

Anyway, we will see. The commitment is for 3 years and I bet it will last longer even if SVB chooses not to participate 😁

If I'm correct Bader almost took out Shaw in the semis at Turning Stone. The guy can play. Looking forward to Vegas.

Yes, I know it was a long time ago, but I haven't forgotten what I learned at Wharton some forty years ago.

Let's hope they are successful and that this tour remains in America even if American support for it is minimal. These are great companies involved.

Jayson beat Abdullah Al-Yousef in the Turning Stone semis, not Bader Al-Awadhi. Both of them are Kuwaiti, so it's easy to mix them up.

I haven’t done too bad myself in terms of schooling and professional licensure. I have a BE and ME in Electrical Engineering, an MPA with Economics and Finance as my concentration and I am a licensed PE in New York. We will catch up one day.

You keep mentioning about the lack of high profile players in this event, but in my firstI reply to your original post in this thread I pointed out that there is a Matchroom event starting TOMMORROW that could have kept them away. Only Kazakis and Yapp, I believe, is playing in this tournament and will be flying to England to play in the PLP. It is entirely reasonable for the rest of top players to not play in this tournament.
Not just Kazakis and Yapp! It's also Eklent KaÇi, Omar Al Shaheen and Mieszko Fortuński who are attending both events.

I look forward to the pleasure of your company one day, VVP.

Should the day come when the CSI/Predator series regularly draws the kind of fields we typically find at the WPM, I'll be very pleased, but right now it's a fantasy. We'll see what kind of field they get at the Las Vegas Open, the next stop on the new event series., to be played in March.
The event 3 field in Las Vegas next month is coming along nicely. Arrows show who is already signed up.

Thanks for this.

Szewczyk of Poland is playing --- wow! I don't recall ever seeing him at a US-based event before.

It would be nice, not to mention shocking, if all of these showed up, for this would be a super-elite field. As you've seen the sign-up sheet, are the top Americans (Fargo 750 and up) signed up, too?

Must presume that all (or at least most of) these players will be in Las Vegas for the World 10-ball Championship, so actually, this looks like an optimal situation. Hence, things look good for the CSI/Predator Las Vegas Open. If the Americans who plan to play in the World 10-ball similarly piggyback here, the field at the Las Vegas Open will be phenomenal.

March in Las Vegas could be a great month for pro pool!

Interesting that Jayson Shaw didn't sign up as yet. This series is written for him as one of the straightest shooters in the world.
Obviously, I respect each players decisions regarding which events to play and which ones to skip on the pool calendar, but that said, I know where you are coming from.

I believe that the world's five straightest shooters are, in no particular order, Shaw, Gorst, Filler, JL Chang and SVB. The format combined with the incredibly top-heavy payout structure favors the straightest shooters more than any event I can ever remember. Yes, even these very strong players may fail to make money at any one of these events, as only eight players in the field of 64 will have anything left after expenses, but the upside would seem to justify rolling the dice on participation.
