Premier League Pool (PLP) 6-13 March2023, Leicester- Earl makes his debut !

I'm guessing the invites were sent out prior to him winning the World 10 Ball, but still it's kind of odd that he wasn't invited but Earl was.
Man, I have to agree with you, however, even though Kaci just won the W10 for the second time, I think we all agree that Earl will still bring more Youtube viewers. This event has no crowd and is on both MR Youtube channels. Views matter on this event and Earl is still a draw...

Yeah, no crowd. I’ve never seen that with a MR event before, except during C of course. It completely changes the viewing experience, IMO. Maybe the later days will have a crowd?

nope. i think they go by the 9-ball ranking + wildcards
As well they should. It's a Matchroom Invitational event that rewards regular participation and performance in Matchroom events.

Based on Fargo, Earl is the 78th best player in the world right now. I'm sure his Matchroom 9-ball ranking is not in the top 100 as he skips almost every Matchroom event. Matchroom can do as it likes with the wild cards, but Kaci would have been a better choice than Earl, who showed no form at all at the Mosconi.

Yes, it was the same thing last year at this event. There are no bleachers in the arena. I agree that it detracts from the viewing experience.

That said, however, this is an excellent event of which Matchroom should be proud.

First time I’ve watched it and I just turned it in while doing some paperwork and I really enjoyed the format!

The short races are quick and you get to see a lot of different players back-to-back. Then I looked up the format and I think this is a very interesting tournament to follow. Lots of opportunity to catch your favorite player and try to figure out who is going to make it to the bracket.

Yes, like you, I think the guaranteed exposure that all participants get is a big strength of this event.

I'd suggest that your top four are the only ones with a chance at winning. Everyone else, to me, is a longshot to win this title. It's really the Mosconi argument all over again. Anyone can win a race to five but play enough races to five and the cream rises to the top time and time again.

Round robin events like this greatly favor the favorites, who have a lot of room for error on the way to the semifinals.

Konrad has been playing great over the last couple of months. He's really been impressive!

yea, konrad can definitely win this, he's a stamina guy as well. this format is grueling

melling had some nice trick shots against svb. he won that match, but i agree with BieberLvr that he doesn't really have a shot
