Pristine Gus Szamboti cue! Original tips installed by Gus

I have a beautiful Gus Szamboti cue I didn't think I'd ever sell, BUT, to be honest it's really not something I need to keep. I tried for 20 years to buy the cue and finally talked the original owner into selling it to me about a year ago. Since that time I've only played a couple of games with it because it still has the original tips Gus put on it when he built the cue and I didn't want to put any wear & tear on it. It's been stored in the "It's George" case that Gus shipped it out in for it's entire life except for maybe a dozen games played with it. I payed what I think is probably near top dollar for the cue so I won't let it go cheap. I do not need to sell it but I really don't need to keep it either. If there's a serious collector out there who would appreciate owning such a pristine Gus cue you can PM me with any questions. Please, no lowball offers, it's a waste of your time and mine! I will deliver the cue personally just about anywhere in the US for $10k. Less if you pick the cue up in Cincinnati. You aren't likely to find a nicer original Gus! This cue just begs to be played with and I'm retired! Barry called me after I purchased the cue and wrote about it in AZ. He told me that the cue was built to Gus' persoanl specs and the cu might have been made for him. The guy I got it from told me that Gus told him he would send him a cue he made for himself.

Here's a link to the story about when I bought the cue and the provenance.

If you know what you want for it why not post it? It is a BEAUTY but I don't know what it is worth I gave $6500 for my Ebony am I close? Ron

Could someone define low-ball offer for me? And, who determines what is low-ball? Just for my own education because I don't want to waste anyone's time.

Thanks in advance

Four figures won't quite get there. Does that help?

Post a...

Post a price...unless you have the box, order letter etc
10k+ is not the number unless someone REALLY wants this cue

The deal I had on the cue fell through so it is now available again. Sorry for any inconvenience to those who'd contacted me with offers in the mean time.
One more thing, I'm shutting down my website as I've retired from full-time cuemaking and I'm no longer taking orders. My web domain expired this june so if anyone needs to contact me by email, they can send it to my new email address

Thanks Sherm

Absolutely beautiful cue Sherm. I'm will be working on my first Balabushka soon and I know one thing, if its out of Ralfie's reach, its outta mine.

Just the same, I'd give just about anything to have that one.
