Any suggestions on who makes a good pro 8. I know there is
only a 4 inch x 2 inch difference on the playing surface but
I cant fit a 9 foot and my 8 foot brunswick has buckets for pockets

Gold Crowns came in Pro8. They came with standard size pockets. Diamond can be made with pro or league cut pockets. Ever thought of just tightening your current table?

There is actually a 4" (width) by 8" (length) difference in size of the playing surfaces of these two tables. The Pro (or oversized) 8' table is 46" x 92" and the 9' table is 50" x 100". Hope this helps.

I think he was talking about difference between normal 8’ and oversized 8’.

I love the oversized 8’ table. I think it’s the funnest size to play on. You can get some serious distance as compared to a 7’ but you never feel like you’re an ocean away like on a 9 or 10’.

You don’t have the clutter of a 7’ when playing 8 buall or 14.1 and it’s noticeably more open than a standard 8’ but still don’t have too many real long shots.

The table I bought off Craigslist and learned on was an old Brunswick cabriole oversized 8’. I love that table and it payed for itself many times over before being fatally wounded by non-pool players trying to move it around in my absence 😢

Not sure what recommends I could give just that I like the table size.

I think the 4" x 2" difference he mentioned was a standard 8 vs oversize 8. I know when I play on my Diamond professional 8', there is a very noticeable difference as to when I play on our friends standard 8'. I see Jeff was typing at the same time.

One of the tournaments I play is on 8' diamonds, love those tables! Don't know if pockets are factory size or not but they measure 4 1/8"

Diamond's come in League(4.75 corners) and ProCut(4.5 corners). For 600bux extra they'll do 4.25 corners. Never heard of 4 1/8 from the factory but i guess its possible or possibly tightened later.

No ideal either. They were not bought brand new so who knows. They are tough but tough on everyone, all you gotta do is hit center pocket every time, eazy peazy 🙄 😂

Felt Billiards here in Colorado has 7 9 foot Diamonds and they are not all the same pocket size but all play just fine.
As garczar said if done right the table will play fine.

A bar near me we played USAPL league in had two 8 foot Diamond coin op tables, they came in at a bit under 4.5" pockets, you could not fit two balls in the jaws, seemed like they were over 4.25 but under 4.5.

The USAPL league owner had a deal with the bar owner for the tables where they split the profits, when the bar closed the tables got moved into a private club / training center. Those were pretty tough playing tables.

I have a Diamond Pro Am 8 foot. Playing surface is 45x90, 4 1/2 inch pro cut pockets, great table. Expensive, but worth it-
