Pro Billiards U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship: Corey Deuel vs. John Schmidt ~ Video!

thanks for posting this... kind of unproffessional finish by john though...

a lil rough to watch. 9 ball is weird when nobody can make a ball on the break. I never saw a tournament table where nobody could figure out the wingball even after a dozen racks.

spoiler (if anyone didn't already figure it out) - john hit a ball hard and halfassed at the end out of frustration. He was always a tiny bit out of line. It made me wince to watch.. He got exactly the wrong angle on several balls, to the point where his options are settle for a mile long shot or a real thin shot. Countless times he had to 'overdraw' a ball across the table to get shape on something. Ended up against the rail and too thin other times. Just a real rough day. Hope he's over whatever it was.

Speed of table

It looked to me like John had trouble with judging the speed of this table, maybe he didn't get enough time warming up? At his level it's not something that mere mortals would understand.

They also said he only had his OB2 shaft a couple of weeks. Still getting used to it maybe.
