Pro level players that post frequently on this forum?

I thought I was past all this bullshit...

Considering at that tournament on that table, Daniel Busch said that he only saw like 2 or three bnr's on that table for the WHOLE tournament, and I had one of them, that should tell you something.

That match is not typical of my level of play. I had only posted it to showcase the obvious BHE that I had used on the five in that BNR and then later the kickshot in the same rack.

And you guys wonder why the better players leave this site... It's almost ****ing comical...

Jaden

Why so butthurt? I even said it could just be from this match (hence meaning it might not actually be how you really play)? I actually consider myself one of the better players on this forum when I am playing 5+ days a week. I quit pool and for fun did Dr. Dave's test and scored fairly high being absolutely rusty. I was just calling it as I see it. Feel free to freak out over a response on a forum though for no reason.

Don't want to sound like a jerk, but this play is not close to semi pro speed.

Only on a forum will players be so honest to another player about how they feel the other player plays. You never see this much honestly face to face in person (in a pool room), right?

Not so sure about that. Pool halls i hang out in, if i go around saying im semi-pro speed, i'm definitely getting called out.

Yeah, I imagine players would want other players to think they are weaker then they actually are, lol. I am curious what is Dr. Dave's test? Thanks.

Its a sticky on the main page up above...scored a 129 with not being even remotely close to playing my best game on the table. It's of course just one test which means very little. There are a few on here that know I am probably about a B speed when I am actually playing a lot. I was just basing my opinion on what I saw from the racks in that video.

Lol, yeah, pool players are not the least bit shy. I just have not been to many pool halls where a lot of really strong players hang out at, so I am just saying from my experience.

Doing Dr Dave's test in the corner of room or home isn't even close to playing at Hard Times on tables #1 or #6 with bonafide world champions watching and barking at you. Just Sayin.

Thanks for that info.

Oh I agree and even mentioned it means very little. Probably one of my tougher tournaments was playing in Olathe being one out of the money about a couple of year ago. I lost to McMinn 9-3 but had missed 3 balls that would have made the match much closer. I've danced with a few top dogs before, but purely played the game as a hobby, not trying to go pro.

Great players bark at other players? Even players that are much weaker in speed? That is messed up.

Shane McMinn is an awesome player. I would be really nervous playing him.

I was a little bit, but not nearly as much as I could have been. I hadn't been playing at all and a friend of mine really wanted to go on the trip but not alone so I went with and shot in it for fun since I hadn't been playing. I won a few matches and lost to a couple of really good players. It was a good experience outside of the smoke filled room we played in.

I have a question that is again, completely off topic (but I guess it is okay, since I am the OP). Do you all think that a player like Chip Compton is Pro level, or Semi Pro speed? Just curious on your opinion of players like him and his speed of play. By "speed", I mean level of play. Thanks.

Could just be from this match but after watching a few racks he plays what appears to be similar to me and I am a B to B- player (not barking just an observation).

When I'm playing I'd probably put myself in the same range as you. As others have said I don't think someone's speed can be judgedone by one set, a tournament at that. I know I've played in tournaments and had lost interest so bad people would put me at like an apa 4 lol. Jaden played my buddy when he was out here in Baltimore........ and lost. My buddy plays a little better than I do. For the record it's apples to oranges though because they were playing straight pool and I'm certain either of them could give me 75 going to 100 because I do not play that game at all. Fwiw , my buddy did say Jaden was a very good player.

Chip Compton and Joey Gray are definitely pros.

I would think a semi-pro would be someone in the 680-720 range on Fargo based on players in my area. Guys who can beat pros when they are playing well but wont get there too often in the long term.
