Pro level players that post frequently on this forum?

I would hazard a guess that semipro would be around a 650 on the fargorate...
 
A lot of the Pros have web pages and post what they call their home rooms. Also a lot will offer lessons if you contact them as they need the money to be able to travel compete and get by. Pro players these days don't make a lot. I believe Earl Strickland is the house pro at Steinway Billiards in Queens. They give him a place to sleep and meals and free table time as pay. From what I hear his lesson rate is only $75.00/hr with a two hour minimum

There are a few regular posters on here that I have always been curious about as far as their level of play is concerned. You're one of the lucky ones.

It's clear you think you play pretty well -- "semi-pro" to use your term.

You may actually play that well and I would be pleasantly surprised if you did. I just found it amusing that the OP was first asking if any pro players regularly post on here and you were quick to mention that you're here.

The Renfro mentioned a 650 Fargo Rating as being close to the "semi-pro" level. That seems a little low to me but 650 is a respectable number. I looked you up on Fargo and it doesn't have a robust enough number to even mention it. So what do you think your eventual accurate Fargo Rating will be?

Again just curious.

Look at the MWST, you've got players like Oscar, Rodney, Vilmos, Mika, Ernesto, Beau, Amar, etc... playing in them regularly. Then you've got the champions like Efren, Bustamante, Edgie, etc... playing in them occasionally, then you have short stops and A players like Fach, Sargon, Dave Hemmah, Melissa Herndon Phil Prentice, HEnry Brodt, Brian Parks, and way too many to list...They had over 300 players this season and a good 100 or more of those were A players or above...

The MWST is one of the best things to happen to pool in a while and it has given the west coast a chance to showcase some of its talent

Is that only in California, or do they tour up in Oregon too? Just curious.

That sounds very reasonable. $150 for 2 hours with one of the greatest players of all time. He is such a great character too.

Oscar has Stops in Arizona and Nevada besides Nocal and Socal. I think Nevada is iffy due to a room being large enough. There were some players coming down from either Portland or Seattle. If you think a Stop would be good up there, I'd contact Oscar. I think he looks for rooms with at least 14 9 foot tables.

I was always curious about you when ever I read your posts, but I am clueless about what your name is. Would be cool to know the names of all these players (and where they are from), and not just their user ID's. Do not worry, I am not going to try to stalk anyone. Just curious where these great players play at regularly.

Not sure about Seattle, but there are a few from the Portland and other nearby areas that go down there. Heck, we may not even have a room with 14 9'. Maybe Classics, if you include their under 18 section. Sam's has 12, i think. I've been trying to put something together, but it's a slow struggle.

The evidence speaks to the contrary, good sir. Your user title reads "World Champion". Also, someone took your picture whilst at the pool table, thus you are clearly, er cleary a pro player.

I made a kick shot yesterday and I almost made a bank shot too. That puts me at semi-pro speed I would reckon.

There are some players that are really good, but when you look at their stroke, they do not seem to be very good in your mind. It really amazes me when I see some players that win a big weekly tournament, and they just appear to me to be not very good players, because to me, their stroke and stance (to name a few things) look not so great.

A stop in Portland would be sweet. I believe Sams has 11 9' Gold Crowns. That said, A few tables have a less than ideal shot with an obstruction. Good luck getting something together, would be awesome!

I thought I was past all this bullshit...

Considering at that tournament on that table, Daniel Busch said that he only saw like 2 or three bnr's on that table for the WHOLE tournament, and I had one of them, that should tell you something.

That match is not typical of my level of play. I had only posted it to showcase the obvious BHE that I had used on the five in that BNR and then later the kickshot in the same rack.

And you guys wonder why the better players leave this site... It's almost ****ing comical...
